Yep, game definitely has that feel to it. Riding a wave of momentum, home game against a struggling team. This is usually where the kick in the nuts is applied. That said, if we are going to lose any game before the bye, this would be the one.

Really, I am interested to see how we fare as a team when the turnover differential breaks a bit more even. We have been very opportunistic thus far, but it won't always be this lopsided.

That's not a fair example. Kerley and Smith play different roles. Gailey really likes to have big strong slot receivers because it causes big mismatches both in the running game (because he's blocking a small CB or an LB that's not much bigger than he is) and the passing game (because he could outmuscle a small CB and an LB can't cover him). Consequently, Kerley really doesn't fit the system. That being said he will likely have a good opportunity this week.

Smith is a split-end like Owusu. Smith was also a 2nd round pick they have high hopes for. If Smith understands the offense at this point I expect him to play a lot. Owusu initially got the job because of Smith's injury. Would it be nice o have Owusu? Yes, but its better to have Smith.

Not having Decker is a pretty big blow. If he were on the field we would have been able to pick on that secondary the same way we did against the Colts in the first half. That being said, Marshall should still have his way with whichever corner they put on him. It just would have been nice to have another guy that requires constant attention out on the field next to him.

Time to put up or shut up Kerley…

    They are missing 2 ILB's.

    And their OL sucks.

And That's before you get to Bradfords 18-30 record as a starter.

This game has zero do do with generating turnovers.

If we don't turn it over, we should win this game comfortably.

Kerley should be able to handle the workload. He is, after all, a slot receiver. And an efficient one at that.

I'm excited to see what Devin Smith can do (if he plays, I guess it's not officially official yet).

I totally get this......oddly enough, I had more confidence going into the Colts game than today's. There is this dark cloud over my head this morning reminding me of so many other classic let down games.

A lot of talking heads are also pointing out how "lucky" we've been recovering 8 out of 8 fumbles.

    I hate being so pessimistic!

DeMarco inactive. Not sure if I like this or not. I hope Sproles doesn't become a problem for us. He is speedy.

Now is it going to be a symbolic start, or is he going to be a mainstream contributor to the offense this week? I'm imagining symbolic.

If it's a symbolic start it's a giant fuck you to Kerley, and I don't see this CS as that type of group.

They were experimenting with the deep ball last week with Owusu but this week we have a guy in the starting lineup known as a long ball specialist and threat. So you'd think they'll try it a few times today. And first gauge to see if he's getting open. Since this is his first ever NFL game. Not sure why they're activating all 3 Qbs. No possibility that they'll use Geno on specific downs because he has no special skill set they could use to their advantage.

We might be better off staying in nickel for whole game.
