Pays to be a season ticket holder. Ticket rep called me yesterday with an error on their end for an extra ticket I bought for tomorrow. Something along the lines of the ticket I was sold shouldn't have went back into inventory at the time f purchase. And the only thing seats left available were lower-level for an additional pricing on top of what I originally spent. Long story story of going back and forth on the phone for over an hour trying to resolve it, they upgraded me, my dad and girlfriend to the Chase/Toyota mezzanine club suite and are refunding the original money I spent on the extra ticket. Shoutout to Emily at the Jets for helping me out!
very true regarding Sproles. Kelly would be crazy not to get Sproles more involved in that O than he has been.....especially with our attacking front. i could see him being a problem for us.
That's awesome man. That kind of shit never works out in your favor. I sat in the chase /Toyota club before.. Pretty awesome
In the past your last line would definitely be a concern with Coach Blutarsky running his mouth. I have no such concerns with Bowles allowing that nonsense to go on. And by chance, if they did come out of the tunnel with that mindset, I believe that Bowles would make the necessary adjustments at half time to correct it...
Woody should leave his political views out of this. Damn racist. Seriously though, I don't get what's behind this all white push. Are they trying to sell more white gear? If you're a Jets fan wouldn't you buy a green jersey, hat, whatever, if you had to decide between the two? So why get people to show up in white now knowing that the vast majority can only show up in Jets green in terms of merchandise? Especially against an opponent that is known for their white logo and white gear. Confuses the crap out of me, it makes no sense.
It's just to unify the fanbase and get some energy into a usually lifeless stadium. They did a "green out" in 2013,
It is a bit of an inconvenience. I'll be at this game but all I have are green jerseys. They are pushing for this white out so much and I see fans on Jets twitter all on board for it that it seems it'll be highly frowned upon if I wear green. Now I have to go to a Modell's and see if I can pick up a white Jets shirt. Im down to support the movement because if everybody does I think the stadium would look sick, but its inconvenient being that we're Gang Green, which would lead most fans to have more green gear than white. The white jerseys are pretty nice in my opinion, though. And I am considering on getting a white jersey sometime soon.
I don't dislike the white jerseys. I mean I hate the "green" pants but the jerseys are fine. It's just weird timing. The Eagles use white, that's sort of their color. It'd be like the Steelers playing the Ravens and then the Steelers would tell their fans to show up in all black when that really is more of a Ravens color. Just dress up in yellow, you're gonna reach far more fans.
Yea I guess it could go either way though. Eagles are also a green team too. We have different greens though, which is why I think a green out would've been just fine. I think doing things like this definitely can unify the fanbase more and make us more relevant and dare I say somewhat intimidating. We as a fanbase have been embarrassingly quiet a lot of times at Metlife, I guess a lot of it has to do with the fact that we weren't very good. Maybe things will change. How sick would it be if we as a fan base could be an actual game changer like the "12th man" or the fans at Lambeau?
The Eagles have never lost to the Jets in the regular season. Surely they will not lose tomorrow either, right? I can remember those games back to 1993, I believe. The Jets were in control, but some costly mistakes gave the Eagles a 35-30 win. 1996 season, The Jets went (1-15) but a late season Saturday game could have easily went to the Jets. Eagles won 21-20. 2003 was the return of Chad Pennington game. Vinny had a nice flea flicker. Eagles win 24-17. 2007 the Jets wore their terrible Titans jerseys. Ugly game. Eagles win 16-9. Then 2011, part of the epic collapse, Eagles blew out the Jets 45-19. Terrible finish. The beginning of the end of Rex/Mark. Hopefully 2015 can bring a different result.
I just don't want this to be a typical "trap game" Philly has looked pretty bad, minus the 2nd half against the Falcons.. They're banged up, the offense hasn't clicked yet, but we are the Jets.. Thing always seem to work against us.. Especially if we're missing Decker, Owusu, Ivory, Revis, etc.. Key guys.. YES, Owusu is a key guy. Hope we see D. Smith. And all signs are that Revis will be playing, so that's good, but how serious is that injury? I wouldn't wanna risk Decker, either. Just win, baby
Funny consequence of the white out: even Eagles fans who come to the game will be participating involuntarily. Most Eagles fans go for white gear.
You're going to love the mezzanine level. I've sat there once when my buddy had an extra ticket. Get up during a TV timeout, take a piss, get a beer and don't miss a play.
Holmes was a big reason why we lost that 2011 game. Since, I've been a fan (which is late in 96) - we always stood a chance against the Eagles, but couldn't pull out the victory. Big opportunity tomorrow. If we lose, I won't be angry, seeing as it's an NFC opponent, but I would love to bury the notion that we could never beat the Eagles.
It scares me because it's a bad match up for our defense. They run a man beater offense and I fully expect them to run a ton of screens and quick passes early to negate the blitz. We'll see what Bowles has in the gameplan as it might behoove the Jets to back off the blitz to keep their playmakers from getting the ball in space. Zone defense works much better because it takes time for the quarterback and receivers to find holes in the zone and with pressure the offense folds. I hope this isn't the game they decide to use DeMarco Murray correctly either because they don't have maulers but they do have a very athletic line.
We got Wilkerson, Leonard and Snacks. While the Eagles line is athletic, we can definitely over-power them and get penetration quicker if the plan is to let DeMarco run up the middle and through the guards. Getting on the outside is what bothers me the most, and the screen-game especially. DeMario will be the one to watch on defense this game.
