Bowles defense in Arizona held the Colts to 11 last year. That was in Arizona and obviously with a different team, but a sweet little nugget none the less.
Kinda goes back to what I've been saying in general. Having a great defense can give a fan hope in ANY game. See the previous 20 pages of this thread. Having a great D gives us 11 guys to follow and rout for, whereas Colts fans have only one guy to even bother watching. I'd always rather watch a team with a great defense and an avg QB than the opposite. Add in a stout running game and some damn good WRs and things can get interesting. Wouldn't mind 2009/2010 run up to the AFCCG again (but with a slightly different outcome!).
This. Gets me through a sunday when we're not playing. Only downside to it is that annoying dude with his wide chin overpronouncing every word with that dumb smirk on his face.
I keep telling myself I'm crazy for thinking this. But I feel like the jets r gonna win Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
Yeh not sure why but I have a positive feeling about this one, I reckon this defence will get it done.
gotta keep em chasing, we figure to have every advantage in the world should we put up two scores more than them. 10-14 points down and they'll abandon the run against our new and improved secondary who's likely to pick them off some time while we jam our Rb's down their throat on the other end. if we have to have a score for score shoot out… I'd take Luck winning that battle.
does anyone else get nervous for primetime games? i personally really like them, but i still get nervous. clearly jets fans are minorities in the NY/NJ area and all my friends jump at any opportunity to shit on us. during normal sundays they might miss embarrassing play, but during primetime games they will text me about every bad play
This is a big time game for the Jets...obviously to keep pace with the Patriots and get to 2-0 as well as to take advantage of a vulnerable Colts team. This IS a game we should win based on match ups alone. However, in the past, this is exactly the type of game we stink up the joint. Monday night football...the whole damn football world watching...these are the games we have typically, in the past, really shit the bed on. Todd Bowles can go a loooongg way to reshaping the culture of this team by coming out a knocking off the Colts. I know they can do it and think they will. Even IF Hilton plays. I don't see them running on our line and that plays right into the TEETH of our strength...even with Cro possibly not on the field. Williams/Skrine is more than capable of doing an even better job. This should be a good game.
^ I'm still not sold on how cohesive our defense is, McCown was picking us apart at will until he got his brain knocked out and Johnny Fumble took over, and Luck is 1000 times the player he is. The matchups look good on paper, hopefully our marginal speed at the edge can take advantage of their Oline for some hurries.
This game will be really interesting to watch considering it may set the tone for our an entire season. If we play them hard and win by the skin of our teeth, it could light a fire under this team don't face a truly scary opponent until we face the Massholes. But, the offense would have to really gel behind Fitz to do that, if we lose this game, things might be up in the air when Geno comes back. So, its in Bowles' corner.
I swear if we completely shit the bed in yet another primetime game I am never watching a Jets primetime game again. This was a problem under Rex. Hopefully we put on a show tonight and dominate as we should!
I know. I feel the same way...I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that the Jets might have competent quarterback play this season for the 1st time in a long time.
While Ivory is expected to play, Idk how much that will be. Should I keep him in my line up or put Powell in?
