This backfield has a chance to be special. If #77 #74 and #66 can move the line of scrimmage and get push Ivory, Stacey, and then have a fresh Ridley in the back half of the season.

Darius Butler and Greg Toler are out. Vontae Davis, Jalil Brown, Sheldon Price, and Eric Patterson will be the Indy CBs out there.

    If we don't feast...

Initially I figured we'd run down their throats but this might change the gameplan to be more downfield oriented. I love Decker, Owusu and Smith vs backups, and if there are any snaps where Davis isn't on Marshall then we need to audible out of the run and feed him no matter what.

Usually that would be great news unless of course we go back from running it down their throat which I don't see happening. Chan is too smart to risk turning the ball over by throwing when you can get easy 1st downs on the ground with Ivory & Powell.

Makes me very hopeful, I feel like were going to get down early in this game and completing 3rd and 5 long passes is going to be crucial for us to take control of the game.

It depends on where the safeties play. If they're dropping 8 or 9 men into the box then expect a lot of play action passes from the jets. If they don't then I expect them to run a lot.

With their secondary as beat up as it is, the colts probably won't blitz much.

As bad as they are even with 8-9 guys in the box I doubt they'd be able to stop the run. The only good player on that defense I can think of outside of Davis of course is Art Jones and he's on IR. D'Qwell used to be a good linebacker but he's either washed up now or the front doesn't allow him to make some plays. Didn't really study their defense in week 1 yet so I can't say what's going on there but I'll probably do so later to see why they were so bad last week.

Just watched the game. I expected them to look worse than they actually did. The game was somewhat even outside of a couple bigplays from the Bills and the Colts at least early on had a bunch of dumb penalties. I forgot to mention Trent Cole earlier, he looks like he's still got it. Very quick off the edge and Breno/Brick will have their hands full trying to shut him down. Langford looked decent but Brick should be able to take him out. The other guys stink, especially their NT and both inside linebackers as well as the DB's (not named Davis). On offense all they do is throw short passes, whether it's slants to the inside, to the slot (Hilton), over the seam to the TE (Allen). What surprised me was how well the O-Line held up against the Blitz. Rex blitzed like crazy but the inside (G/C/G) did a great job picking up the linebackers. You can't go by 1 game only but based on the Bills game I'd say if we run the ball up the middle with Ivory and throw a couple of screen passes to Powell, some playactions to Enunwa out of the backfield, we'll create some bigplays.

On defense I'd rather not blitz and let Mo, Leonard and maybe Coples go after Luck and let the rest play zone to create some turnovers. Pace shouldn't bother stepping on the field, we don't need him against the run and he's useless in coverage. Would rather have Lattimore out there but that's not gonna happen. Gilchrist, Pryor and Marcus Williams / Skrine (whoever plays the slot) will be key vs the slot receivers and the TE's.

They're run D must be pretty good. They held Buffalo's prize off season acquisition LeSean McCoy to 5 yards on 28 carries.

I doubt those numbers are correct but he looked average at best. Outside of a big run over the middle for a touchdown by their backup RB the Colts did a decent job stopping the run.

The jets are going to blitz and I think they're going to blitz a lot. Part of the benefit of the blitz is that you force their Olinemen back and don't allow luck to step into his throws so he's throwing off his back foot which damages his accuracy and causes him to throw high.

I may have exaggerated a bit but the point remains. Colts shut down Buffalo's running game.

Man, since when did we Jets fans get so confident? We beat a HORRIBLE Browns team at home and now we are beating a SB contender on the road? I hope so.

If we fail, the alternative is Geno. Might as well be positive about our current situation.

He was born questionable. He's fine, Bowles said there's nothing to worry about.
