As the week goes on, my confidence to the Jets is growing. I don't think we are that far off winning it on Monday Night. If ball bounces our way, we can definitely come home with a victory.

If we somehow beat Indy Monday night, that stadium is going to CRAZY week 3 vs the Eagles; who also don't look unbeatable.. but yes, I know. One game at a time.

I think we might see Skrines cover TE's in certain situations.

I think you're right, but there are going to be times when it's a problem for us that at side by side during max vert, Coby Fleener is 8 inches taller than Skrine, and that doesn't even include Fleener's much longer wingspan. I'm not saying it's the end for us, I'm just saying if Luck has time to place accurate throws, that's almost definitely going to be an issue for us.

Maybe the taller TE's will be an issue, to be sure, but I'm getting up to speed on Skrines - a bit tardy there I concede - and the book on him is he adds flexibility since he can cover some TE's.

    Maybe not Fleener though. Heh.

evenif ehc ant cover fleener, he can do alot better then harris can.

harris needs to play only run downs. his career of being a 3 down player is over

even if plays I think he will be more of a decoy. Pagano got some flack for only giving the ball to gore 8 times last week and calling 17 passing plays in a row. I can see them trying to force feed gore early and often. Let's hope we force a bunch of 3 and outs and jump out to an early lead. This will allow us to play OUR game and run the manbeast Ivory 20+ times. Mill the clock and keep their best player off the field

And therein lies the biggest issue with Ivory.

If Ivory misses or is restricted, we wont win.

I just hope we start better,I was seriously worried in the beggining of the Browns game. The secondary gave up a lot of plays and Revis was off to a slow start. This is Andrew Luck not Johhny Manziel I'm honestly worried a little bit about the secondary showing up

Same here LIB. I really didn't like how our defense started the game. And like you say if we start as slow, Luck will turn the game into 14-0 in no time. And it won't be easy to get out of that hole. But something tells me we will be prepared for them. I think players also look at this game as a statement game and they will definitely be super motivated like rest of us.

So I just watched the Bills/Colts game (Gotta love NFL.com and Replay!) and I have to say...IF that defensive effort by the Colts is what they actually look like...they are in deep trouble. And not just from the Jets...their whole season could be in jeopardy. (Isn't Pagano a D-coach?)

If our offense can put forth a similar effort as last week vs. the Browns we have a VERY good chance to be 2-0 and the Colts 0-2! Let me put it this way...if Hilton doesn't play the Colts lose that game. Luck can only do so much. Would definitely not be shocked if the Jets repeat what the Bills did and tune them up.

Of course, having said all that, these are the Jets and I wouldn't be blown away if we lay an egg and get blown out either. Who knows....maybe we AREN'T the same old Jets...we came out of last weekend with no major injuries after it looked like we would lose TWO key defensive components. (however I think Williams is going to prove to be better than Cro this year) AND...Devin looks like he will be back, if not this weekend, no later than next. The team looks good. If we can keep it up who knows. I will say this though...having watched that game the damn Bills defense looks SCARY good...just saying...

The importance of winning convincingly Monday night:
    1. Barring a tie, either the Pats or the Bills will be down one game.
    2. It's likely Miami will be up one game since they are playing the Jags.
    3. Indianapolis is a common AFC South opponent which means it's the third tie-breaker in event of a tie for the division title or wildcard spot. It may be important if the AFC East turns out to be truly as competitive as some are predicting it to be.
    4. Being a televised game, a convincing, disciplined win would go a long way to silence critics of the Jets that rejoice in Butt Fumbles and a starting QB getting his jaw fractured.
    5. A good showing by the bearded Harvard boy will keep Geno on the bench and lessen all that related stress and anxiety.
    6. 2-0 will put the Jets one game closer to their first 3-0 run since December 2011.
