Be nice if Broncos win but Titans can’t rest their players because Bengals can replace them for first rd bye if they win and TN loses, I believe
Denver has 2 2nd’s this year. I’d absolutely be willing to drop down from 4 to 11-14 and take both of those 2’s, a 3, and maybe a 2023 2nd. Who knows, maybe if they really love Pickett we get their 2023 1st instead of that 2nd.
1 PM Slate “Rooting Guide”: Final Updates in Bold Italics Texans over Titans: Helps both pick's SOS situation and would give the Jets a chance to climb up to 3rd overall. (28-25 Titans) FINAL Browns over Bengals: Helps both pick's SOS situation and ensures the SEA pick would fall 1 less if SEA wins. (21-16 Browns) FINAL Vikings over Bears: Helps both pick's SOS situation and ensures the SEA pick would fall 1 less if SEA wins. (31-17 Vikings) FINAL FYI about the above 3: If all 3 of these situations occur, we would clinch the SOS tiebreaker over Carolina because we're already 2-0 in games we needed after yesterday (Chiefs over Broncos and Cowboys over Eagles). Meaning regardless of outcome today for either team, we would pick ahead of Carolina as we already have a 1 game "lead" in terms of W/L record. Giants over WFT: If the Giants win, Jets are locked into no worse than the 5th pick, as we've clinched the SOS tiebreaker. If WFT wins, the SEA pick would fall 1 less if SEA wins. Nania's scenario says it helps both SOS situations if the Giants win so we'll go with that but either scenario helps the Jets in one way. I'd lean a Giants win because I think that would be more beneficial. (22-7 WFT) FINAL Colts over Jaguars: Helps the SOS for the SEA pick vs Carolina. (26-11 Jaguars) FINAL FYI about IND/JAX: For SEA's SOS to be worse than Carolina, a lot has to happen. Seattle has to lose, Carolina has to win (vs TB), and then 5 scenarios have to happen. HOU over TEN, MIN over CHI, IND over JAX, ATL over NO, and NYG over WFT. So I think it's safe to say SEA's SOS will not be worse than CAR's. With WFT beating NYG, it is impossible for the SEA pick to be better than Carolina's. Ravens over Steelers: Helps SOS situation for SEA pick vs Chicago. (16-13 Steelers) FINAL Seems like the only game today that has no bearing on our picks would be Packers vs Lions. Hopefully this is all correct but if someone notices something that seems off, please let me know and I'll update it!!
Ok that's another option then. I was thinking solely two firsts this year, but you have a good point.
Just shut off the Titans Texans, barring a miracle....Titans are going to runaway with that one. Sucks because I'm not really sure where you go if Thibideoux, Hutchinson and Neil are off the board. You would almost have to go Hamilton. Those 3 are all slam dunks at premium positions.
Trade down. I know, it takes two to tango, but surely there's a team that will fall in love with Pickett.
That's the best option--we have to hope Pickett or one of the other guys lights it up during Senior Bowl and combine
I thought before the season that we had THREE 5th round draft choices? I'm pretty I remember seeing that. At that time they still had 11 picks as well. What happened to their third 5th rounder? It must have been traded but for who?
I know I posted all this shit, but I only did it because everyone else wanted to have a guide to go by. With that said, for me? I just really, really, REALLY want to see two things: 1) Zach MUST continue his good play and honestly that's not a given. Zach has almost no talent playing around him. He won't even have Braxton Berrios and that really sucks. My hope is we get Crowder and Carter back though? Carter moreso than Crowder although it would be great for Zach to have two valuable weapons available to him. 2) I want the Jets to beat the fucking BILLS today! It sounds to me like we're pretty much locked into #5 at very worst. It's more important for Seattle to lose. I want another signature win before the season ends. Send the players into the off season with hope for next year. I think that matters for Zach's psyche and every other young player that left it all out on the field for us this season.
We're essentially locked into 4th-6th barring some miracle with the Houston/Tennessee game. If the Giants come back against WFT or Carolina wins vs TB, we'd be locked into 5th at worst. I'm with you though, hoping the Jets win today!!
