Five games. He appealed it and got it down to three. In 2016 he also missed the first three games of the season due to being a dirty player. They took past violations into account. Burfict has cost himself millions in his career.
Yeah, his rap sheet was definitely a contributing factor. I just don't see how the NFL can get away with giving a light sentence to Gronk. Especially given the heightened awareness around head injuries, they've got to come down pretty harshly on him.
Add to that, both he and Brady mouthing off about how much doesn't get called against him, as if that's some justification.
I will agree that he should be suspended. That is inexcusable. Comparing to others who have been suspended, I seriously doubt they would suspend him for the season. That usually comes from a pattern of on-field abusive behavior, which Gronk doesn't have. And it's not Ezekiel Elliott either. But I could see anywhere from 1 to 3 games. Hope Tre'Davious (sp?) White player is okay.
Definitely deserves a suspension, but you are insane if you think it should be season-long or even more than 1-2 games. What precedent are you basing this on? Mike Evans hit is most comparable from few weeks ago on Lattimore and that got 1 game. AJ Green take-down got no games (just 2nd half of the current one).
It will be 1 game (or 2 reduced to 1), and Gronk will get to rest during a "bye" week against Miami. Win/win.
I think they'd be wise to start mothballing him until the games start to count for real regardless. No way would I let him play against the Bills again this season.

Shazier to the hospital, no updates tonight from the Steelers hilarious non-effort from the Cincinnati D, not bothering to knock Bell out of bounds and then a WWE celebration from the Steelers
announcers very confused McDonough thinks Villanueva plays for Cincinnati and Jon Gruden thinks #22 for Pittsburgh is a linebacker named Randall Gay (it's actually a long time DB, William Gay). lol, three guys ahead of Bell and McDonough says he's third in league history (touches per game). Math is hard.
If Tomlin was smart, he'd onside kick here after the 15 yard penalty instead of kicking it through the endzone. kick it over the heads of the blockers and try to recover not much downside
Bengals lose. Good result for the Jets. Need a Steelers win next week too (and a Jets win in Denver of course)
That was a setup whack/hit the whole way. Smith-Schuster then proceeded to gloat over him like some low life.
