Gruden just said Charles Haley reminds him of Aldon Smith :rofl: in the 4th quarter, Gruden started saying Lance Briggs should be the MVP.
I think it is a flash in the pan, they only announced Smith out yesterday, the Bears couldn't prepare for him.
maybe, but he played great in the second half last week too, and he had a good college career, improvement every year, he has good physical tools, huge arm, size, mobility.
Are you new to football? Of course the receivers could've easily made it back to the LOS and been ready for a snap. You can see that in the video. It doesn't look like any of them ran particularly hard or far... the angle is odd, but I'd guess nobody is more than 20 yds downfield... and simple math... it took em about 5 seconds to run that far - you don't think they can run back in 8 or 9 and stand still for a snap? And, on the 4 yd dump.... it was dumb. When you've got to go 85 yds in 2 or 3 plays, of course your receivers will be covered. But, you HAVE to get the ball downfield... even if that means the only chance is a lucky bounce/grab. Wasting 7 seconds to gain 4 yards is actually quite a bit of "harm done." The odds were long - but receivers jogging off the LOS - not hustling back for a last play... when you're still in a 1 score game and a Standford play is always possible... that's quitting. San Diego had had enough. They quit on those last 2 plays. Your whole take on the issue is wrong.
Parrot boy, Do a little research. I am not new to football. The 4-yard dump is not necessarily dumb. In theory it is. "Let's throw a 4-yard pass when we need to go 70 yards in 20 seconds with no timeouts." Yeah, dumb. Problem is it wasn't dumb the way it played out. Copy something I wrote again.
haha. you couldnt pick a good QB if it fell from space and landed on your face. Did you even watch the game? He was playing the #1 defense in the league, never panicked, made the right choices almost 100% of the time, completed short, medium and long passes at a 69.5% rate, never seemed hurried or scared and made the bears look like crap. I would take Kaepernick over Sanchez right now!
I would really point to Harbaugh for Colin's success. Not to take away anything from Kaepernick, but I think Harbaugh has a very straightforward and easy systems for Smith and Colin. Also, I highly doubt the 49ers all of sudden have two starting caliber QBs and Harbaugh arriving is just a coincidence.
i agree! Coaching is a very large part of the success (or lack there of) in any QB's career, you still have to have the requisite abilities though. He has them!
These refs make the replacements look good. No way the ball changes directions 2 feet from the ground without hitting something. If this and the 49ers game fiasco from last week had happened with replacements this stuff would cause an uproar. Edit: Moved to week 12
