ref said timeout Baltimore when the refs were going to call a false start on Pitt, but the screen is showing Pitt as having using the timeout, so I guess the ref had it wrong.
Want the Steelers to lose, but refs gave them a terrible spot. I wouldn't have challenged; I would have went for it with one timeout left.
damn that killer sack by "dig" made me wish we didn't let him go nor resigned him during the off season
Hate the internet all you want, but there absolutely was quitting. (Sorry - can't post links but you can find it on YouTube as "End of Broncos Chargers Game") It's a bit blurry, but you can see the ball is snapped at 0:17. Rivers is on the ground @ 0:13/0:12. His receivers certainly see this @ 0:11. They are casually strolling back towards the LOS @ 0:10. Rivers is on his feet with the ball in his hand @ 0:08. Rivers makes his fallaway pass to the ref just as the clock is hitting 0:06. Now - it's absolutely true that they were almost 90 yards from the endzone. And it's also true it would've been close as to whether or not they could've snapped the ball again. But here is the thing.... they didn't even bother to try. No effort. It wasn't likely, but it wasn't impossible to score a TD on one play. A series of strange laterals can work. Penalties can extend the game. I was probably wrong to just single out Rivers - it doesn't appear his receivers/linemen were in any hurry to keep going... but I'd suggest teams also take their cue from the QB. As bad as I think Sanchez is... I don't see him as the type of guy that would've stopped trying in a 1 score game - even with very slim odds... even if he might've been a second too late snapping the ball. * And it's also worth noting that Rivers was an idiot on the play before where he threw the 4 yd sideline pass to his TE or whoever. At that point in the game... even if your receiver is covered by 4 guys, you throw it downfield and hope for a lucky bounce/penalty. I'm pretty sure Rivers didn't want to 'risk' adding an INT to his stats - so made the idiotic toss to the side.
What happened on the Bears sideline? They zoomed in on Jason Campell pregame and there was a big guy (lineman I guess) who looked like he was crying, then a few seconds later Brandon Marshall was shaking the hand of a priest. Weird.
Kapernick is having a great game, I thought he wasn't that good because he wasn't that great in pre-season.
I am not trying to be an ass with the following question. Are you new to football? ****** There was no way San Diego was going to get another play off. The receivers were too far away from the line of scrimmage to get back down there in time. As for the short pass at the beginning of the drive the receivers who were down the field were likely covered. That is why Rivers threw short to a tight end. The guy ran out of bounds if I am not mistake. Thus, no harm done whether he caught it or if Rivers had thrown the ball out of bounds. Your whole take on this issue is wrong.
blown call there kaepernick threw it away after he stepped out of bounds but it was ruled an incomplete pass then he throws another TD 27-0
