Given the rest of the schedule, I think a win here is if not mathematically necessary to continued playoff hopes, it is pretty much near that as a practical matter. How can a team lose 4 of 5 in mid season, the win being unimpressive, and look like a team that will or should go to the playoffs? Beyond that, a loss here begins to look like more evidence the Jets lost their mojo after being defeated by NE. This is a big game.
Lol "mojo", that's the type of football analysis you get from Bung Flogger. The woes started when Nick Mangold hurt his neck, and no matter if he was playing or not, you know it affected the way the line was playing. He has to crane his next up from the snapping position, for what is probably a lifetime, to see the DL and LB movement pre-snap and you know it affects his judgment and ability to see those players.
The woes started when Scott Chandler's 300 pound ass fell on Calvin Pryor's ankle. Then Brady erased a deficit to win and we lost 3 of 4 getting ripped on defense. I'm interested to see if he was actually that big of a piece for the defense or if it was just overachieving for the first few weeks. I think he said he'll be back this week.
I didn't think he was doing all that well against the Patriots, but the chips did fall quickly after that injury.
It's possible that the defense started to get exposed coincidentally at the same time Pryor went out. He's been very good but I'm not sure he's the savior everyone's making him out to be
That's my guess. His signature play in that game was throwing a midair shoulder into LaFell that thankfully was challenged and won by inches when all he had to do was tackle the guy and save the challenge by yards.
it started with the loss of Colon and Nick.... Nick is back we miss colon which I never thought I say.... one penality all year!!!! says something about coaching know...
This could be a statement game like that for FITZMAGIC. It is a good point. The Texans decided to trade him for virtually nothing so that they could have a Training Camp battle between Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett. Kind of insulting after Fitzpatrick's decent (6-6) record last year.
Imaging making 5 moves with 5 kids? Pretty disruptive to say the least. I hope he finds a home here till he's done playing. We needs some wins
no statement game vs the bills for fitz? should be in good shape vs the titans though, huh? hope we play the bengals should we make it to the playoffs by this theory too any chance we could meet the rams in the s.b.? i think that covers them all
He played good against the Bills. Good enough to win for sure. Can't say the same about his teammates.
Hopefully, I run into you, the fam is coming down, so look for a group of 4 Jets fans, one in a Mangold jersey, the others donning Wayne Chrebet.
For all the love Marshall gets, Decker is the vital cog in the passing game. He has scored in all games besides 1, and went over 100 yds that game iirc. I expect over a buck for him this week and another td to add to the resume.
Well, tey shut down the Bengals offense. I'm not completely sold on the Texans yet, they could still crash and burn and be the same team again they were early in the year, getting whooped on, eating 8 touchdowns, not being able to score on offense. But they might have turned this thing around with their Bengals performance. I guess we'll have an answer in a few days but I'm pretty sure that we will score at least 2 TD's against them either way.
