Some of the posts mentioned that the Rams were using multiple TE last year to help with blocking for Gurley, however they made a change to the offensive blocking scheme that they were using, and now it seems the oline is not suited for that scheme, especially their center. The jets might have a monster defensive game up front if that's the case, similar to the Bengals game.
Because Bowles knows the shitstorm that's waiting for Fitz at MetLife. It wouldn't surprise me if Fitz gets booed soon as he comes on the field. God forbid he starts out slow or throws an early pick. Bowles probably figures if he waits almost until gametime, the fans at the stadium won't be as hostile. If he announces today, that gives the fanbase 24hrs to get themselves all worked up. That would effectively turn tomorrow's "home" game into a road game. Make no mistake, Fitz will have to play the game of his life tomorrow or both him AND Bowels will be dealt with mercilessly by the media and the fanbase. Not sure if Bowles cares or not, but he's not deaf nor blind so he can try to tune it out but the result will be empty seats. That's when Woody will get involved.
I haven't seen Petty starting from any major sources. Rotoworld says Fitz is starting..that said I'm not against the move I do think Fitz gives us our best chance but it's a good time to see what we have in Bryce seeing playoffs are out of reach.
where is everyone seeing this? other then this thread, there are no reports of this being confirmed. any links?
I really hope the Petty report is true. I'll be watching either way, but it will be much more interesting, win or lose, to see what Petty can do.
Nah dude. He wanted the Rams to be preparing for Fitzpatrick and his deadly one read 9 yard throws all week long so they would have to completely switch their game plan at the last second. Duh.
I forgot how deadly those plays were. Those and those shovel passes to Powell that gain 3yds or so. Hell, it wouldn't surprise me if the Rams let the Jets march down the field to the 20, then hold our nose and kick our ass at the same time. We can then get a camera shot of the Sphinx just staring off into the distance.
Rotoworld: Ryan Fitzpatrick (knee, questionable) will not start Sunday's Week 10 game against the Rams. Nov 13 - 9:32 AM
Guess I was wrong. I thought Fitz would go. He would have probably, but this was a coaching decision. One we can't disagree with.
When I think of all the great NFL games that weren't recorded, or the recording was destroyed, it's a shame that this game will be preserved correctly.
