he's right though, you can't cherrypick stats. Why not say... except for those 2 touchdowns they only scored 14 points.
The point is that for the most part we did a decent job against the run,it's not as if they were gashing us for big runs every down. They had one big play that was part fluke/part great play by dillon.Other than that one play the had little success on the ground.
I THINK THEY'LL BE WAITING FOR THE RUN ON OUR FIRST DRIVE,(1ST DOWN). THAT'S WHY MANNING AND BRADY SEEM TO HAVE SUCC'SESS. THEY JUST SNAP AND "AIR IT OUT" FROM THE GATE. I AIN'T SCREAMIN' "THROW IT DEEP". BUT A SERIES OF SWING/PITCH PLAYS TO THE LONG SIDE OF THE FIELD OR EVEN SENDING IT OUT TO THE FLATS WOULD PICK US UP 5-6YRD PLAYS,KEEP THE DRIVE GOING AND DEFF. SET UP THE RUN. AND IF THAT DON'T WORK. CONJURE UP SOME "BRIAN S. TRICK PLAY'S". P.S " AND PRAY! ats_suck: "
If you take Corey Dillons 50 yard run away and you remove Kevin Faulks three 5+ yards, and then pretend Maroney didn't play then the Jets were more succesful on the ground.
Hey, the Jet's best chance to beat the Pats in September may be in May. Not necessarily but still I don't mind getting some of these phantom victories under our belts while we still can.
As i posted earlier you just needed to take out Dillons big run for the stats to favour us. Regardless we out ran the pats 70 yards to 43 yards in the second half, allowing us to control the tempo of the game and milk the clock when we were ahead.
Right because none of us have a clue what the rosters will be on opening day. I'd say better than 90% of the Jets and Pats rosters are already known by most of us. Sure we can't say for sure, but this is all hypothetical to begin with. Like any of us would be in charge of the Jets game plan.
LMBO! We need to start game planning for the 10 receiver set looks the d's gonna get! Its a good thing the Jets went DB in the first!
the pats gameplan is simple: have the offense go 3 and out, and try to keep noodle arm on the field as long as possible. in other words, win it on defense. :shit:
do a captain insano move on tom brady and poke him in the eyes so he cant see, then cut maroneys legs off via schlegel's boar knife. After that we shouldnt have that hard of a time just have rhodes knock off the backup qbs head every play on the blitz. And i think thomas jones will be able to run the ball for a victory. What do you guys think
i think the gameplan should be to stop talking about...its only May and yet we are already obsessed with this game in september...cant we obsess as we get closer to it?
If if if, you sound silly. If Rodney and Ty Warren weren't hurt the game wouldn't have even been close. What if Barlow didn't have a 12 yard long run? What if it wasn't raining? What if Tom Brady didn't fumble at the end? What if Gabriel didn't fumble inside the Jets 20? Get over it, the Jets are nothing in comparison to the Patriots. Why do you even waste time and energy trying to explain to yourself and others that the Jets are in the same class. It just isn't true so let it go..................
Responses like this gem are why I love this message board. this is my nomination for funniest post of '07. As a Patriots fan I'm happy with what the team's done but I'm concerned that expectations are too high. Let's not forget that San Diego is still stacked and injuries can change everything.
Gameplan??? I'd consider it a major success if we can score a single point off the mighty Patriots...
It is difficult for me to get into thinking about a game that is sooooooo far away. It is May. We only just got done with our draft, we should at least be able to order a couple of more mugs before training camp.
Jets offense: play action, and 4 deep bomb attempts, obviously no turnovers and run the football, throughout the game. Jets defense: play cover 2 dline rush in the first play, then olb blitz in the second play, and play middle zone for the TE's. Jets defense rest of game: play to their strengths.
