it's all part of the plan. The Raiders are losing on purpose so that they keep getting top draft picks. Then they'll dominate the NFL. You just watch!

He almost took the legs right off of the punt returner.

Jay Cutler is the best QB of all time. If he can do this against the best defense and secondary in the NFL, imagine what he'll do against New Orleans in two weeks.

So how good is Denver, really? I think Cutler will have a big year, but I don't like their running backs at all. Their defense looks super fast but is susceptible to the run. D is looking better tonight because the Raiders O-line stinks, they have no recievers, and Russell is still a baby.

I still say 9-7ish. The Raiders are making Denver look better than they are.

The Rams, Bengals, Lions, Raiders, Browns, Redskins, and Texans all looked like absolute garbage in Week 1.

I'll give the Redskins a mulligan because playing in Giants Stadium against the SB champs was a tight spot. Similarly, I will give the Texans a bit of a pass. The Steelers coaching staff was heavily pushing for a quick start. It was pounded into the players that they better start 1-0. The Steelers will probably fold late in the season again this year.

I don't like the Browns head coach. Relatively speaking, he is soft. His team reflects him. I'll note once again that Derek Anderson is the most erratic QB I have ever seen. He was amazingly erratic at Oregon State and it has continued in the NFL.

The Lions at least scored some points and were only down by 7 at the half. But still, they were abysmal against the run and the head coach blows.

The three most hideous performances were turned in by the Rams, Bengals, and Raiders. I think the Eagles could contend for the Super Bowl and knew the Rams stood no chance in that building. Therefore, I'll give the Week 1 Turd Award to the Bengals and Raiders. They can share it.

At 24-0, I say it's about that time...

Jeaux on how the Raiders will beat the Broncos (8/14/08 1:36PM):

They hurt Royal in that scrum on purpose. Raiders can't win without it... actually, they can't win.

    My personal favorite:

Cutler is very good young looking QB

Those old looking QBs always seem to have trouble. I'll take a young looking one any day.

It's too bad the Broncos' defensive line is so terrible. If they were any good, we might have gotten to see negative rushing yards. It's pretty sad when a kneel down is a viable running play for your team.

    9-7ish seems about right.
Last year, I commented several times about poor linebacker play from the Broncos. D.J. Williams was the only one who played well in 2007, but he was playing in the middle. He is more effective on the weakside, where he is again playing. The other LBs in '07 were awful.

So, I think they are better at LB this year.

The defensive line is pedestrian except for obvious passing downs when Elvis Dumervil is in the game and is unleashed on QBs.

Champ Bailey had a down year in 2007. He should be much better this year.

John Lynch was not good in 2007. Him being gone is better for the team.

I think the RB corps is good.

    The receivers are good.
