Terrence Newman will likely not play and Martellus Bennett also is unlikely to play.

Miles Austin is not 100% and will play.

Sit him in your fantasy leagues anyway.

I don't know if that's good or bad. Newman is a walking MASH unit and Martellus Bennett is the Justin McCareins of TEs. John Phillips may take this opportunity to pass Marty B on the depth chart.

Who is Calvin Watkins? Is this credible?

    Apparently an ESPN guy"

Dallas’ decision to keep Terence Newman for $8 million instead of going harder after Nnamdi Asomugha ranks as one of the most curious moves of the offseason.

Newman, who struggled all last year, is set to miss Week One. The Cowboys could really be thin in the secondary following news that Mike Jenkins was also hurt at practice Wednesday.

Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com relays the news straight from owner Jerry Jones. The team has only three healthy cornerbacks.

Somewhere, Santonio Holmes and Plaxico Burress are smiling.

thats interesting... if jenkins ends up out after getting hurt today the jets need to be prepared to fling it around and test their secondary.

Wow. So this will be like a Madden game. Empty backfield 5 receiver sets all day. LOL.

I wouldnt go anywhere near empty backfield with Demarcus Ware (and Rob Ryan) on the other side.

But yeah, we need to challenge their secondary if the boys are missing 2 starting corners, and are starting Abe Elam at safety.

We need to challenge them on 1st down too, not just run it. Get ourselves into 3rd and short and then pound it down their throats. Use the pass to set up the run is the key sunday.

@mattmosley: Jason Garrett says CB Mike Jenkins and OT Tyron Smith both have knee injuries. Will have MRIs today and be reevaluated

If Mike Jenkins misses this game, there will be no excuses if our passing offense struggles.

There's no way in hell Alan Ball can cover Santonio Holmes.

The Cowboys' pass rush is scary, but mediocre coverage will hurt their pressure.

Romo had better be running for his life too. That OLine is in shambles.

Tyron Smith was also hurt with a knee injury. Not sure how serious.

They are both going to get MRI's.

They would both be huge losses.

    Per ESPN Dallas:

Looks like Smith will likely be out this weekend.

WHich reminds me...Barber was traded by the Cowboys. He was huge in picking up blitzes in pass protection.
