You make a great point. Its time to make a statement in this first home game. Come out and obliterate a team on national TV and show the league that this team is once again going to be successful and not to be fucked with.
Another interesting (yet ultimately meaningless) stat. Rex is 3-0 in NFL games coaching against his underachiving brother.
I think this should be a win for you. You're better coached, a better team, at home and now it looks like both Newman and Smith are out. BAL looks like the only tough game among your first four. I'm hoping that we're 3-1 when we meet week five, but we could easily be 2-2. However both teams start, week five is going to be interesting!
both Jets vs Pats games this year (and possibly the third...) are going to be complete and total blood baths. there will be cheap shots, late hits, emotions running high, and some guys are going to be beaten and bloodied at the end of the day. Going to be epic to watch no matter the results. that said I think we split again this year, both teams winning on the road this time.
this too. We need to make a statement that nobody wants to fuck with us. We don't just need to be immensely dominant on the scoreboard, but I want to physically fuck them up. I want them to try and wave a white flag by halftime. I want to see David Harris and Bart Scott unload on some people. I want to see Nick Mangold throwing DL around all game long. I want to see Eric Smith just knock Demarco Murray the fuck out when he takes a route in the flat (legally of course). I want to see a physically dominating performance that breaks the will of our opponents. We really should do so without a problem with all of the injuries they are piling up. Only 3 players give Dallas a fighting chance, Demarcus Ware, Felix Jones and most frightening of all Jason Witten. That said I expect Rex to send those guys out there with the mentality of "You can give us your best game, but we're gonna give you our best game and we're gonna beat the FUCK outta ya."
I'll add my two cents to the hijacking of this thread...what could be better than to hear Brady say the Jets will be in his head for the rest of his life. TheJetsStream Manish Mehta Tom Brady to @RichEisen re: Playoff loss to #Jets: “It will stick w/me for my whole life. It’s the Jets for God’s sake. That’s the worst"
Abyzmul is way more optimistic about the Cowboys than I am. Their secondary is a fucking joke, and the O line is subpar. I don't get the underrating of Romo though. He's a very good QB and his ability on the run will be crucial with the line being so shaky. Everyone likes to call him unclutch, but the number one example that comes up is a FG hold. Not really relevant to his QB play. The only really BAD playoff performance he's had was against the Vikings, and that was almost entirely due to the supernaturally bad performance by the OL. I say Jets win this week though, they are the better team. 28-10 or so.
Agreed. It seems that we usually split. For whatever reason, we just can't seem to win in the Meadowlands.
There was also the INT in the end zone to end the game against the Giants where the threw into double coverage. There was a game against the Vikes last year where he threw the ball into the hands of Chad Greenway (I think) to end the game as well. Pressure isn't something he laughs at.
the greenway play was in the playoffs i believe. you remember the game favre flinging it aroud for a score with under 3 minutes to play causing Keith Brooking to cry after the game was over?
Good memory-close. It was a 4th down pass Romo tried to force to Witten and Will Witherspoon jumped the route all and but had the pick 'cept he dropped it-game over anyway.
Even though it seemed like Sanchez had a number for dropped picks (all QB's have them) I had never realized that Sanchez led the the league in that dubious stat.....or that Henne had the fewest. If its true that Mark will throw it to the other team less than last year as he develops, if he isn't as lucky with the drops this year, he may still have a lot of picks. The point is that he threw a LOT of balls, last season, to the other team BTW when I mentioned that the Jets have everything going for them, it includes a lot of things besides the Dallas injuries. Its a home game. The whole 9/11 emotional boost, etc etc. Well maybe I'm just bitter that the Pats have to open their season in that freakin saunna in Miami. Its no consolation that the Phins have to come to Pats in late Dec. When is the league going to wise up and schedule the Phins/Pats to be in Foxboro in September, and Miami in Dec. It would make much more sense to both the teams AND the fans
The Pats have started 0-2 TWICE and made it to the superbowl, so I understand how fast September starts are not REQUIRED for success. The "brutal consequences" of a Jets lose Sunday night refer more to the rabid NY press and fan reaction, than actual long term damage to the Jets. There is an old football coaches adage about the season. Its a marathon, NOT a sprint. You really don't know what kind of team you have until October.
The Cowboys are in disarray. If Smith can't go they have no answer to play tackle. The fans in Dallas are more concerned about if the Rangers are going to humiliate the Yankees again in the Division series or Championship series.
After no pats fan posts on this thread, now there are a couple on one page. Is there a 'King Retard" that sends out the subordinate retards or do you just do this on your own?
Uh... until 09 the Pasts had won something like 8 straight at the Meadowlands. But I agree, I see a season series split once again.
