I heard about those guys. One of their chants is to the tune of: "Brady takes it up the ass." Chorus- "Doo Dah, Doo Dah" "Brady takes it up the ass" Chorus "All the dooh dah day." repeat...
Wear a coat so the walk in and out you can just have it covered. That way you won't get heckled on the off chance the phins steal a win. People in general aren't dicks to girls unless they are being sloppy as well and as girls usually are not brought into it, I wouldn't worry about the wife too much. If you just wear the jersey and are not taunting anyone no one will do more then playfully make of it.
Wear your colors but don't except to hear cheers or nice comments. You're a Dolphins fan, arguably our biggest rival, so no matter if you're the quiet type who doesn't try to stir shit you're still going to hear some crap (probably from me) from a bunch of a Jets fans. As long as you're not a loud mouth it will be the normal, ball breaking stuff. If you're a loud mouth or an asshole you might get your face punched in as there are many drunks at NFL games who will get into a fight even though it means their season tickets will be revoked. Just an FYI.
You're bringing your wife on your honeymoon to a....freezing cold Jets game in North New Jersey. Wow. I wish my girl was that into football. Why not just bring her to a fish game in Miami and spare yourselves the agony of watching your team get annihilated? My advice: unless you're in a luxury suite or other some other very expensive seats, you're probably better off leaving her and the jersey at the hotel. It gets ugly in the cheap seats, even if you are low key and respectful.
In the 80s, a Dolphins fan exited the Mezz Section and landed in the Lowers. That's right, landed in. He got in a fight and was either shoved or fell over the rail of the Mezz Section and landed on his back on the seats below. They took him out on a large pizza pallet. Don't know what happened, but just sayin'...
Don't be a douche and you should be fine. I've brought my friend (who's a dolphins fan) to a couple Jets vs. Dolphins games. The kid didn't listen to that. Constantly yelling about how great the Dolphins are, how great all of their players are, going nuts whenever they got a first down, etc. No physical altercations (he wasn't THAT bad, plus he was with Jets fans), but damn did the verbal abuse rain down on him like no other. Luckily, the Jets won both times .
