We expect to be drafting in the 20’s… who was the last player the Jets drafted in the 20’s who was a contributor to the team. Honest question, I can’t think of any but I’m only thinking about the last 15 years…
Trick question. Hall and JJ come to mind. But If AR plays the next two years, I’m convinced it will be the best pick move possible. JD is pretty good with his picks, but we had plenty of first rounders much higher than 20 who contributed very little if at all. So there is that data point.
It was a trick question and I should have specified “besides the last draft”. I see all these people complaining about losing a pick in the 20’s and I just want to remind people a player drafted in the 20’s isn’t a sure thing
I’ve seen the whole “Jets draft picks always suck” argument tossed around here a bunch of times as if that’s a valid reason to be OK with dumping picks. That’s also why the Jets have sucked for so long and hung their hats on signing guys like Isaiah Crowell to plug holes.
You are terrible at drawing conclusions and using context clues… I apologize if you’re autistic or otherwise retarded but if you’re not diagnosed already, you should look into it.
Thank you!!!! So according to math and history, there’s a 1 in 17 shot next years 1st turns into a pro brown player… but instead the FO took AR….
Someone only needs to understand that up and down are descriptions of movement to "imagine" such a thing.
Simple yes or no question here: Was the production of Rodgers up or down from 2020 to 2021? Whatever anyone else in the NFL did since the league was established is not a factor.
That's nothing I said I simply agreed that his production was down from the prior year. Can we get a translation on your final sentence, please?
I know you're trying very hard to be Edgy New Guy #267, but you will have to try a little harder than autism and retarded. So far your audition is embarrassing. Step it up, chop chop.
Don't worry you won't miss Rodgers, he went from maybe the best Qb evaluator Franchise to one of the worst if not the worst. Your team knows what they are doing while our team has no clue what they are doing when it comes to Qb's there is a reason why not one team but the Jets wanted a hall of famer who won multiple mvps and a superbowl, most of the league know Aaron Rodgers is washed up, to bad the Jets ran to give Greenbay whatever they wanted for a 40 year old prima dona has been. You would think 15 Qb needy teams would run and be our competition to get Aaron Rodgers but not one team but the Jets wanted to touch this guy. Makes you question why?
I need to chime in here… I don’t care if A.R. drops off a CLIFF. He would have to essentially become a completely different person to “reach” the lows of the recent Jets QB’s. There’s not a Jets QB EVER that can statically touch Rodgers worst years. Now THAT is a statistical FACT!! So stop flapping your gums about “slide” and being smug about 10 yard here or there. No one cares. if the Jets are deep in the playoffs this fall then boo hoo about the 2024 pick. Price of doing business. Not like the Jets are going to draft a decent QB with that 2024 pick. I mean, you HAVE been watching the drafts, right? The Jets are probably the worst QB drafting team in the ENTIRE NFL…ever. The team is loaded, save an oline-man or two, and nothing about the 2024 pick is going to change that. Rodgers would have to drop a full1,000 yards and about 25 TD’s to be in Jets land QB realm. Please stop…
I didn't bring up anything about a slide, I simply agreed with the poster who did and cited cold hard facts when he was told he was wrong. Why is it so hard for people to accept the reality of the situation? It also has nothing at all to do with what the Jets history has been for the last ten years or the last sixty. We're here to discuss the NY Jets; there's no requirement that any of us agree with what anyone else has to say here - why would you want to stifle any conversation? A differing opinion is simply an opinion different from yours; it's not gum flapping and certainly no reason for anyone to stop. If that makes you uncomfortable, perhaps you're in the wrong place.
It was your delivery while whimpering about half percentages. Seriously, why bother making the debate unless you are talking about SIGNIFICANT drop offs. Not 1and half percents. Seriously? You remind me of someone that has to always be right and wastes an incredible amount of time arguing “well, he threw for 4,001 yards when the previous year he threw for 4,008 yards.” Yes, “technically” he slid…a whole 1st down worth of yards. But, you are RIGHT! Technically he slid. Now, lets not confuse him with Jay Cutler now…eeesshhhh….
Once again, I didn't make the debate, I simply supported whoever it was that correctly pointed out that the production of Rodgers declined in both of the past two years. I cited commonly reported statistics, all of them. I did not cherry pick any, as you have in your quibble. But that's okay, you do you; there's no requirement you say anything about his 23% decline in touchdowns or 50% increase in sacks taken. Jay Cutler is not a part of the conversation - it's all about Rodgers.
Peeked in to a Packers chat forum. They had a thread titled "Predict the year that Jordan Love is traded to the Jets". I laughed.
