You know it's funny people keep saying this. People for the most part, WANTED Holmes here over Braylon Edwards during that off-season
i always liked Edwards. he played tough. was a good jet, I could care less about his dwi. at the time i had no idea that Holes was going to become such a problem. so when jets released him i wasn't panicked just disappointed. in hindsight it was horrible error
Thing about Braylon was that he did some fucked up things off the field, but when it came to Sunday 1pm (or whenever the Jets played), dude was ALWAYS ready to battle. Holmes is like the complete opposite. Braylon had the best chemistry with Sanchez and in my opinion it wasn't even close, they had something special from the get-go.
Werent people saying Sanchez sucked the first 2 years? you all act like the first 2 years he was great, people were bitching harder then than they are now. The media forgets those brutal losses to the Ravens, Packers, Phins, Bills etc.
49er fan here. I think the hatred on Sanchez is overboard personally. He will never have had a situation as brutal as Alex Smith, and at least went to two championship games to start his career when it took Smith 7 seasons to, which is mostly due to the front office finally getting things right. It's all about the organization and the pieces. There are maybe 5-6 QBs in the league TOPS that can really make something out of nothing. In a 32 team league, there's obviously a shortage for an e**** QB (hate that word). The jury is still out on whether you need such a high level QB to win a SB, but to be competitive obviously not. Beating the Patriots in 2010 playoffs ought to be a hell of an accomplishment.
I hear ya man and if it wasnt for the Jets defense in 2009 choking against the colts, Sanchez woulda been playing in the Super Bowl that year, same with Alex. If the special teams didnt spot the Giants 10 points, Alex is a Super Bowl QB and would look a lot better. I guess the same can be said for Flacco to. Things out of their control cost em.
appreciate it, but unfortunately that was 2 years ago...this team is a shell of its former self and sanchez only appears to be regressing.
You clearly dont watch the games. When you make comments without watching the games, you end up making yourself look stupid. You should probably just stop now.
What I've come to realize is that Mark Sanchez's bad plays have gotten better, while his good plays have gotten worse. And that's why this fan base is so split on the guy. I personally believe that if Mark had the team from 2 years ago now, he could still make the plays he was making then but with less mistakes. As he has improved on his errors, the team has gotten worse around him, making him unable to do some of the good he used to. I'm not going to argue that the guy is a great QB, but he is more than capable and we've seen it before.
