TO didn't destroy either of those teams. With TO both SF and Philadelphia were much better teams than they were without him. The Jets are not the right team for TO but a team that is an explosive offensive player away from having a real shot, TO would make the team better and would be worth a gamble.
I am not saying TO will not improve most teams he plays for. However, there seems to be a pattern of events forming: 1. TO plays well, has a good attitude, team has amazing success 2. TO gets disrespected (in the case of Philly at least I think he was legitimately disrespected; however the way he handled it was just ridiculous) 3. TO acts up, team starts to lose 4. TO leaves the team with all bridges burned and the team in shambles Now it's still to early to tell whether Philly is actually in shambles (though I believe they are), or whether this will always happen with TO. But if it happens again I am not going to be surprised at all.
Philadelphia made their run and got further in their run with TO than without him. The breakdown of Philadelphia was a combination of players getting injured and moving on, not TO destroying the team. TO actually gave the entire team a PR mulligan.
There is no way in hell the Jets should spend TO type of money on a TO when they have so many other needs. OL, QB, RB are problems 1,2,3. Our receivers are fine, and if we had an average/above average qb you'd see. When Chad's healthy, he's above average. A Leinart or Culter will exploit the talents of Coles and McCerins. TO will only exploit the glaring weaknesses.
id say thats very optimistic for martin, coles and chad...the chad part bordering on insane...but heres hoping your right:up:
F*** that bro.....its been long enough without winning....and i could care less about having a bunch of good guys....im not a huge T.O supporter although i certainly would let him on my team...but i dont care if we had 52 convicts on our teqam if they win..im happy
