The Steelers, Packers and Giants changed their uniforms as often or more than the Jets did at equal stages in their history.
we changed from the 80s and 90s b/c we mostly sucked in those uni's. I would be ok w/ 80s uni's again if we kept the darker green, it looks so much better than the lighter green and we seemed to get worse as the uni's kept lightening in the 90s.
No. Do you see what Nike is doing to fuck up college uniforms? You want to give then free reign to create a 21st century futuristic version for the Jets? GTFO of here. _
totally true. Can we all at least agree that the green over green get up is just nauseating? And the team seems to always play like shit. Seriously, kill the green pants once and for fucking all.
The Giants at least went to the Snickers Bar unis when they moved to Jersey. I actually think those are much better than what they wear now.
we had probably our biggest win since SB III in the green pants(w/ white jerseys) so I like them more now.
I like white over white w/ the old green socks we wore back from '98-'01. I don't like the striped socks.
The current uniforms are the teams identity. And despite this awful last few years the team has seen more postseasons in this current uniform than in the 80/early 90s unis combined
80/90s uni's: made playoffs '81, '82, '85, '86, '91- won 3 playoff games current uni's: made playoffs '98, '01, '02, '04, '06, '09, '10- won 7 playoff games
Amen on the green pants. And how sad would be to want to keep the white jerseys/green pants solely on the basis of one non-SB, non-AFCCG game? Talk about celebrating futility.. Whatever one wants to say about Parcells, he got it right getting the Jets out of those Saskatchewan Roughrider/Marshall Univ. Thundering Herd get ups and back into New York Jet uniforms. Imho, there were 3 classic AFL unis: the Jets, Raiders and (original) Chargers. Change the shade of green to something less dark, restore the original 'Ole Miss/Colts-type shoulder rings and get rid of those belly patches. The unis aren't what's broke. The green pants suck/sucked no matter what the era
it's the greatest win outside the 1968 the franchise has had. we also won in the playoffs w/ them in 2004 as well. the shoulder stripes are a result of the awful Nike uniform design, not much we can do there. the uni's look much better w/ the darker green than they did w/ Kelly green. In the early 80s the uni's seemed darker and looked great compared to how light they were by the mid 90s.
Yes, and Mark led us to the win in NE, etc., etc.,....I get it. I'm just looking at the unis from an trad/aesthetic (not 'commemorative') standpoint. To each his own....but the white pants imho look a lot better no matter what color top is worn
they can burn the green pants in a fire for all I care. best jersey look is the white on white. I'd be fine if they wore it every single week home or away. It might be the sharpest looking combo in the league.
The Nike College uniforms are definitely a love it or hate it type thing. I really love Oregon's uniforms. I think they have about 20 variants now, lol! I'm really liking the matte look that a lot of helmets have gone to. Anyone see Louisville's helmets in last night's game with Florida State? I wouldn't mind seeing the Jets make over not only their uni's but also the whole imagery around the name "Jets". How about a fighter jet logo, dark grey, matte helmets with green accents. If the team still sucks at least we'll get to see some cool uni's. ...Let the flames begin!
