Idk if you’d get anything for him, but I’d trade. Costello made the knoblach analogy, it fits here. If you can’t get anything for him, playing through it and hopefully he works it out. Also, I guess griffin is a complete stiff?
I almost never come to actually dislike Jets players, but this guy is really pushing it. He is playing with zero intensity and awareness. That fumble was just brutal. As he went into contact his free arm was actually moving AWAY from the ball, rather than covering it up. Garbage attitude and, at the moment, garbage player. I'm trying to avoid the knee-jerk reaction to call for him to just be cut, but damn it... it is hard.
Knoblauch was a 4x All-Star and had a Gold Glove and 2x Silver Sluggers. Don't insult Knoblauch like that with a guy that's fumbled on 14% of his touches.
Who was the half decent one? Keller? Griffin did well last season. Herndon couldn’t even catch COVID at the minute. Why not target Griffin?
Herndon needs to take a seat on the bench. I don't like Costello's analogy because you have to set a standard here. Knoblach was a respected player just having the yips. Herndon is undisciplined and distracted on and off the field and thats the root of his errors. Its unacceptable
We're definitely going to need a TE next season. Herndon is lucky that this team is so bad that it affords him some time to play through whatever is going on with him. If this was a team that was in contention, he'd either be on the bench or just cut outright to make room for someone who can at least hold on to the football.
You did see him play this season right? He let one go right through his hands, it was a shocker and sure he dropped another and that is the last I've seen him lol He has 2 catches v the phins that I never noticed, I was probably spinning the wrong way on the noose to notice
Herndon's dropped like ten and he keeps playing. Seferian-Jenkins had a nice half season during one of the tank-ish years.
Even though Dustin Keller wasn't worth much of anything in the run game he was by far the best pass catching TE of my generation (born in 85) who I really liked (and still miss to this day) ala 4th in receptions (241), 4th in receiving yards (2,876) and 4th in TD receptions (17) amongst all Jet TE's All-Time. My Jets dream draft during our first two rounds (3 picks) are... 1st overall: Trevor Lawrence. 1st round (Seattle/Jamal) Kyle Pitts. 2nd round (1st pick of 2nd Rd) Najee Harris. I absolutely love Kyle Pitts he's the most talented pass catching TE of this year's draft class and is on the verge of shattering all of Aaron Hernandez's Florida records and going down as the Gators #1 TE of All-Time and within the SEC? He's super impressive. But unless Seattle goes on a mini losing streak and loses 5-6 games this year I don't believe he'll be available with our Seattle/Jamal pick but if he were I believe he'd be a must draft pick just look @ both Kittke and especially Kelce for Mahomes and the impact they have for their QBs; I'd love a Lawrence to Pitts QB/TE duo for many of years to come.
Yet another position the Jets need help at. Gase doesnt use TEs all that much in his offense beyond blocking & red zone. That said Herndon has been given opportunities & just seems checked out on football.
