I love the Optimision!!! I'm thinkin playoffs real soon. Love Our O-Line...young and only going to get better!!
If..and its a huge if..if the Jets can somehow sneak one of the next two games...anything is possible. Going 2-3 and having to finish 8-3 is asking a lot...no matter what the schedule is..and I do agree..you couldnt ask for more as far as the schedule goes (the last 6 games are basically a gift...going 4-2 or 5-1 isnt crazy). The key to the whole thing is the defense...will the defense come together by week 8...are the defensive holes because of a new system...or is it something the FO will need to address in the off season. Will someone besides Rhodes step up and become a big time player in the secondary. Will anyone on the front line step up and start putting pressure on the qb...and will they start to allow the linebackers to free up to make tackles so other teams just dont start running the ball down our throats week after week. I know everyone is worried about the running game...that just doesnt bother me. That will come sooner rather than later. The pass protection for Chad is getting better..and for the most part...inside the 10..the offensive line has had better production than people give it credit for. Its coming. Many long for the days of the Kevin Mawae offensive lines...well from what I see..this very young offensive line has had better success around the goal line than those lines ever had. We need to think back on how that line got pushed around near the goal line..and how many times we had to settle for 3. This line is showing signs..and the holes are getting bigger..and it wouldnt surprise me if this weekend...against the Colts...the whole thing starts to come together.
Exactly right. We also don't really know yet who are the elite teams this year. Than you start to factor in injuries and depth and who is playing well at the end of the season and things could look very different. If the Jets just win the games that are winable and learn and develop some chemistry this team may end up a very formidible out down the road? It's very early. There are some 1 & 2 teams that aren't playing well right now that are going to be considered SB contenders down the road and there are some 2 & 1 teams who will fall off the cliff by the end of the year. What is clear right now is we have more playmakers on both sides of the ball than anyone thought going into the season. Pennington looks to have made a full recovery, and the coaching staff seems to have a nice game plan every week and has made solid adjustments when things weren't working right. The other thing that is very apparent is the over all QB play in the NFL is atrocious. Chad may not be a huge armed playmaker but once you get past Palmer and Manning and Brady (who I think is hurt) he is probably as good as any one out there. He is not going to lose games for you and when he gets a little more confidence and more familiar with what he can and can't do, he has the weapons to take apart some very decent defenses. I don't believe we can beat the Colts and I don't think we have to, but what I would like to see is good weather conditions and if our O can hang in there and score some points with them. I have a feeling we can open it up alot more than any of us suspected prior to the season. I think the Bills game while much closer to the vest than I would have liked was a result of weather. I think this team can put 28 to 34 points on the board next week. Can we hold the Colts to less than 34? Hard to tell but the fact that many of us think we can play ball with them in week 4 of the season says alot about the direction this team is headed in.
Duh!! there are currently no playoff teams in the NFL, ( week 3 just wrapping up and all ) Anything can happen, Chris Simms just lost a spleen, lets just wait and see, and stop trying to act like our football knowledge is all knowing.. you never know. Lets go Jets!!!!!
