Your map LIES! I was extremely excited, since the Jets vs. Lions was being broadcast in western NY so I didnt have to go to the bar. But nooooo..... my local TV guide says its Dolphins vs. ravens today. Fuck that shit. This map doesnt have a speck of red in NY, its all Green, and I still get fucked over. This is stupid.
I honestly don't pay attention much to the announcers when the game is on live. When I watch it again later I notice them more.
Imagine that game if it was announced by Gumbel and Dierdorf. God, that would've been even more painful. Gus is the best there is.
Again, anyone who hates Gus is missing out... He absolutely Destroys Dierdoof and a few others. Actually, Tasker was pretty good today. They made a few mistakes but didn;t sound like fukin idiots which can't be said for some others...
A close second, for me, behind Nantz and Simms. But part of that is knowing that when those guys are announcing your games, it's a big deal. Kind of like Musberger and Herbstreit. Not the best announcers, but the gravitas associated makes it big.
"Sanchez underneath...Santonio HOLMES WATCHOUT!...Holmes gabxleassurasa to the 15 turns on the burners with a gain of 52" Straight up quote
I don't like Nantz and I cannot fucking stand Simms. Al Michaels is my overall favorite because he's hilarious. The Leon Lett joke during Jets vs Vikings game was hilarious. The only problem is that he is always partnered up with someone who absolutely sucks. Although I will say that I think Collinsworth is a biiiiiiiiiig improvement over John Madden. I'm probably in the minority on that one.
First time I recall having this crew. They were both excellent, exciting, fair and informative. Would take them every week, much better then Gumbel and Dierdorg or Enberg.
I wasnt such a fan of the duo's insight of the game. Pretty bad analysts. I think the best call ever made about gus johnson was Bill Simmons idea that he should function as a reliever/closer in broadcasting. Have nantz or gumbel call the game and let gus do his thing for the last 5 minutes
I accidentally stumbled upon this shortly after I set up part of my home theater a couple of years ago. I was watching a basketball game on either TNT or BSPN with only my front two speakers hooked up and I set my receiver audio to a surround mode so the audio stream of the announcing came out of the center channel that I didn't have hooked up. It was actually strange to not hear broadcasters during a game, but refreshing.
