we have heard this same shit last week and all season from opposing teams fans. this defense has only been exploited once all season and that was the second game vs the pats. we have our entire defensive backfield healthy and our front 7 comes at the qb harder than any other team in the league right now. oh one question though. if manning doesn't overlook anyone than he wasn't overlooking the jets in the first game. how many points did the colts offense put up with manning the game?
Typical -- Jets win and breaks go their way it was flukes and we got lucky, but if we lose in the same fashion it's we were outplayed, Same Old Jets, were beat mentally and physically, couldn't match up, couldn't match intensity etc.... It's like they don't watch the game. Sproles was shut down, the deep game was eliminated, Jets were 100% more physical, they hustled more, and wanted contact. Rivers played scared and watch he film he was running away from contact all game. Sanchez through an ugly pick but at least he stayed in the pocket and took a hit. And on Greene's TD run Cromardi had a shot at him behind the line and didn't even make a move at him...hi first contact was a cheap elbow in the end zone. San Diego lost because the Jets were so physical they played scared!! Colts led 15-10 with 5 min n the 3rd. Jets beat teams in the 4th qtr. You think Freeney will get 2 free runs at Sanchez again to kill drives???
Nice post Chris, I mean Rich... I agree that it seems the Jets are sizing up the teams in the first half, then discuss it at halftime and then WHAM! show up and capitalize the second half. Let's hope we can do the same to the Colts this weekend.
i've never believed in 'backing into the playoffs' either you win enough games to get in, or you dont. there are gonna be a lot of teams in the future that get in worse than we did. the saints benched everybody in week 17 vs. the panthers, what if the panthers had to win to get in?
I swear I've seen enough of Floyd Mayweather to know this is how he fights. Nobody is gonna knock him out because he is too good but you'll get some shots in early before he picks you apart and takes you out of your game. The Colts may go down and score on their 1st drive and we may go 3 and out on our first 3 but in the end I'm trusting this defense to get the job done and our offense to deliver the KO when our D demoralizes their O.
Well with each win it gets tougher to just ignore us, or heap the "back in" excuse on us. It's funny because at the start of the year everyone was hoping we would at least finish at .500 and any talk of the playoffs was mostly a given that we'd have to wait another year. But it is like I have said a hundred times... just get to the playoffs because you never know what can happen. Now we are one game away from the Big Show. Win or lose it's been a hell of a ride this season.
Good news folks. You can quit whining about the lack of respect. I've just heard Brian Baldinger from NFL network on the radio and he is picking the Jets. Howie Long also said it would be a very close game and wouldn't be surprised if the Jets won. Colin Cowherd is also picking the Jets. I also respect the Jets and was not surprised to see them beat the Chargers. I expect the this to be a dog fight with the Colts winning by the slimmest of margins. The Jets deserve to be in this game.
Thanks.. your one of the few Colts fans accept reality. I expect that you guys will win but it's gonna be one tough game for you guys. Honestly now that all these haters are picking us I wish they'd wait till after the game to start the bandwagon jumping.
Hopefully the game will be fun and close.. no blowouts or lopsided victories. Indy certainly deserves their place as the favorite. I expect the Jets will have to play their best football of this year to pull it out.
I actually like listening to BT at 1050ESPN eventhough he is a Jet fan, he is also very realistic and it makes for good listening. If this Jets team is playing this dominant football for the next 3-5 years we will see more people pick them, right now the safe pick is the #1 seed, Colts. Fatcessa will make up stuff just to prove his point and then cut the listeners off, I remember when the Jets first beat the Colts, he said Manning had already put up 15 points in the first half, I remember the game being 9-3 at the half, that's why I don't listen to him anymore. Way too biased.
Hell no, we don't deserve to be here. But that's why I like it even more, lol. That's JETS football baby!
Deserve?? DESERVE?? Who gives a toss, we're in the Championship game, baby! Let's Go! The more they pile on the hate and scorn, the more we ALL love it. We are the Jets, and most of you out there hate us for it...bring it on.
Here are several posts showing the Jets are getting a lot of love and you post this. Are you that worried that you think the only way for the Jets to win is if the entire world picks against them? Emotion will only take a team so far. You have to play your game and stick to it. That's what the Jets have done so far.
The thing is one week doesn't change the bashing this team has gotten over the last 4 weeks. The "experts" may forget quick but the team and the coaches won't. Emotion goes a long way and I promise you when your guys walk off that field on Sunday win or lose they're gonna say it was the hardest game we've ever played. Obviously things changed alot from the 5 min mark of the 3rd quarter on but it's not the Colts were kicking our ass when your starters came out. Your team took alot of undeserved heat for what they did but I hope it's mistake that comes back to kick Bill Pollian in his ass.
Don't mind us Indy. We're still getting used to the prosperity of winning big games on a big stage. It's felt for years that we've been getting shit on by the national media and that's where the seige mentality comes from.. Here's to a good game pardner!
Colts should know about choking.....they're the Atlanta Braves of the NFL with 1 championship despite the best QB in the last 20 years.
I don't want the respect. It's working better the way it is. As it is right now, the Jets have to prove they beat the colts weeks ago. A great ingredient for this game.
It seems what many detractors and non-believers are overlooking is the fact that the Jets, except for one game against the Bucs, committed to a rookie QB and all the quirks and growing pains that had strong impact on their overall record and impression of them as being a mediocre team. If Mark had thrown a few less INT's and made a few less fumbles, this team would have easily had at least 2-3 more wins. Now that it appears that Mark is gaining more confidence and experience, the true potential that this team is showing is coming to fruition.
