Jets will have to find a way to run the ball. Steelers defense is scary ... but so is ours. Beating Manning and Brady back to back has never been done. Our secondary is playing lights out. But I hope our players don't come overconfident to the game just because we beat the "#1 team." This is a different team. Should be a great game.
When CBS posted that stat about no team beating Indy and NE in back-to-back weeks that had to be the most useless piece of information I've ever heard on a broadcast. The odds of playing both those teams in back to back weeks is small to begin with. I laughed at the stupidity of the producers.
One was legit. I'll give them credit for Super Bowl 43. The four in the 1970s (okay, technically one was played in early 1980) were steroid-fueled. The 1970s Steelers were maybe the most roided-up team of them all. Super Bowl 40 was a farce.
I think even Simms or Nantz quickly responded that it's not something that happens often in terms of the schedule.
I never congratulate fans for what the teams they root for did. You would not have done anything for the Steelers, like I would not have done anything to help the Jets one. You can count me in the "no" pile of Jets fans that won't. They do shit like that every game. The only thing it makes me think about is how much it would have to suck to get into an argument with that guy in a bar over football. Pittsburgh delenda est.
Oh look the Steroid era argument. Every team was on roids back then. They were LEGAL! You also realize that every call in Super Bowl 40 was shown to be accurate EXCEPT the personal foul on Hasselbeck on the interception return.
So steelcurtain, if the Jets come into your beloved ketchup field and win again, will you be on here congratulating us for being the better team this year, or will you bitch out like the Patriot nation?
There were multiple terrible calls that went in Team Bettis' favor. If you insist otherwise, you're lawst.
I was here after the last loss. As mentioned in another thread, my wife is passed her due date, so the only reason I wouldn't be here right away if it happened is because I'm busy helping her deliver our son.
Well congratulations, stay classy, and if the Jets win I hope he's born on Sunday to keep your mind at ease..although now adays all you'll really have to do is get your hand squeezed and told you're a miserable piece of shit for "doing this to her," since the doctors do the delivering..dont know how it works in Pitt though
Sorry there was more to it than the marijuana..Holmes had been ARRESTED a number of times..At least once for assaulting one of his baby's mamas..I think choking or something crazy like that.. He also posted on his official Twitter account that haters should kill themselves..seriously. Then he talked about how he sold drugs after he won the Super Bowl.. He ran himself out of town. That was too much for the Rooneys to bear. He got away with more than any other player in recent memory.
You can look at any game and say one team "got the benefit" of the calls. Ravens fans are bitching the Steelers got the better end of the deal yesterday despite the fact the Steelers had MORE penalties against them.
I'm really hoping he arrives well before Sunday. So is she. My work schedule sucks since I am not getting most of my usual runs and am stuck doing a lot of the shit jobs since I can't leave campus in case she calls.
I didn't get any of that type of yelling directed at me. My duties were to hold my wife's right leg and later to cut the cord. Perhaps SteelCurtain96's son will be born on January 21 which is David Harris' birthday.
The Steelers did get away with two personal fouls and they also were the recipients of a defensive holding call on a running play in close quarters near the goal line. That particular infraction in such a spot is virtually never called. I am not normally one to go crazy with penalty calls, but I did with Super Bowl 40. I thought that was one of the two worst officiated postseason games I have ever seen. The other was Game 6 of the Kings-Lakers series in 2002.
There were also a couple of helmet to helmet hits on the Steelers that were not called and T-Suggs should have been called for hands to the face of Ben Roethlisberger on one play..it was obvious..Steelers ended up having to punt on that drive.
Kris Kemoeatu was hitting late and leading with his head all game before he was finally called on it in the 4th. It was a fucking grudgematch of a game. Both teams should have been penalized more than they were. Just like the Jets and Patriots. No one was "in the right" on penalties. Pittsburgh delenda est.
