and I'm torn here. Colorado, I agree with you that Saleh and MLF are doing what they think best for the Jets and Zach long term, and it could help make him a much better QB in the long run. I also fear that they could wind up ruining him (throwing the baby out with the bathwater) if they aren't careful. IMO it appears that they aren't showing trust in Zach to let him learn from his mistakes, but I'll admit that it could be a matter of Zach having taken to heart the mistakes, and he may be playing more cautiously than they want him to play or his confidence could have taken a hit. I'm hoping that a lot of MLF's play calling has been because of what their opponents the last several weeks do well and where their vulnerabilities lie, and not to restrict/limit Zach. I also admit that I am impatient to see the QB that we drafted, to see the Zach that I know he can be. The Zach that we saw vs the Titans last year and so much his last year at BYU. I don't want him to be an idiot like Favre and never learn and continue to be reckless his whole career. As you said, Pepsiguy5, the Jets won't win playing it safe. Achieving greatness means taking calculated risks and being aggressive. I hope and pray that this is just a short-term thing with how they are handling Zach and the offense and that soon they will open things up. I truly think that with the team that JD is assembling, with our CS and especially with Zach as our QB that we can and will achieve greatness, if injuries don't derail us and/or if "playing it safe" out of fear of mistakes doesn't derail us. The only thing I disagree with you on Pepsiguy5 is that those "heaves against the Titans" were undisciplined. Zach is a smart player and QB. He knows what he's capable of. He knew he could put it on Davis if Davis got by his defender. I'm not sure if the other throw you're referring to was that sideline throw, but there was nothing undisciplined about that throw. Zach is one of only 2-3 other QBs in the NFL that can make that throw, and he put it on a dime where only the WR could get it. If would be reckless or undisciplined for a Darnold or Flacco or most other QBs in the NFL, but not for Zach.
