I beg to differ. Yes it was an upgrade over last year, but Pennington gives you the same upgrade. Look at the Jets and Dolphins today. Both teams need wins in bad weather. Favre throw two picks and the team scores three points. Old noodle-arm Pennington throws three touchdowns and his team wins. Your valid point is the excitement. Piss poor coaching aside (not going for the FG - punting first and then going for the fourth down) - there were plays to be made. Favre didn't make many of them and then we he does Coles can't make one. I myself and mad at the coaching staff. However, the players have to take some responsibility.
