The Pats/BB don't have a FQB in the building and as we long know, if you don't have a FQB or exceptional a fucntional game manager with a stellar D then you get what you see in Foxboro right now.
The Pats 1st SB was all Belichick and the defense. The first 3 Pats SB wins one csn say it was more Belichick. Belichick has evolved with the game and has helped the game evolve offensively with a very aggressive approach. He is the pioneer in going for it on 4th down. Certainly both helped each other. What I like about Belichick is he is not afraid to change. He traded a 1st for Bledsoe but was not afraid to dump Bledsoe for Brady. Most coaches play with fear. You never see that from him. If you are pickinga coach to develop a gameplan to stop another team he is the guy. He is a great coach and without question one of the greatest of all time. A better question is who should get credit for the Giants 1st two SB wins Parcells or Belichick?
Parcells picked Bledsoe with the 1st pick of the '93 draft. Belichik took the Pats job at least in part because he viewed Bledsoe as a franchise QB. He then gave Bledsoe a record 10 yr/$103M contract before the 2001 season. This was after having Tom Brady on the roster in 2000 as a rookie. If Mo doesn't take Bledsoe out in game 2 in 2001 the whole Brady/Belichik thing never gets off the ground. The Pats likely fire Bill Belichik at the end of the season after another 5-11 result and Brady gets no looks at all from the new HC who does whatever he can to get out from under the albatross contract that Belichik gave Bledsoe and then finds his QB his way, whatever that might have been. The scenario above is the most likely result of what we knew right up until Mo broke Bledsoe's ribs.
NE never lost three games in a row in the 20 years(?) Brady started for them and they owned Buffalo the entire time. If they lose to Buffalo this week that's four losses in a row.
