You had to be a little nervous down 7-0 without a punter and Benson running roughshod. By the second half though things were looking good.
I don't know how you can be a diehard football fan of any team and not be nervous watching a playoff game. Playoff football is about as intense as it gets. I have been confident all week and I was confident throughout the game, even after being down 7-0. That doesn't mean I wasn't nervous as could be watching it.
Honest to God I thought I was going to have a heart attack near the end. When Benson ran in I started thinking how I would cope the next day if we lost. I was a wreck. Being a Jet fan for 30 years will do this to you. Ye, it's all great fun............
I was very nervous before the game and when the Bengals lined up for a field goal after the refs called back the two Jets field goals. Thank God they missed - it was pretty much smooth sailing after that.
I hear ya!! When I saw that, I yelled 'aw f%#k me!!" I did NOT need to see that, I figured that would jinx us. But most of the "same ol crap" that always seems to rear its head, never showed up. It was a great feeling see the Jets show up for a big game!
Yeah, I was definitely nervous until we got up by 10. Every time Feely went to punt I was shitting myself.
right after Benson ran for the long TD and made it a game, someone was knocking on my front door. Pizza man? Police? No, it was some guy named 'same ol jets'. But instead of letting him in, I let my son's pit bull outside. Pitt Bull- 1 SOJ- 0 edit: are there any Italians on here that know how to get rid of a body?
I went through the whole gambit of emotions...but an underlying confidence made sure it wasn't too bad. The first turnover really helped in settling the nerves...but when they got their second score, OF COURSE I was worried...this is the Jets...I shouldn't have been, this is Rex Ryan's Jets!
Not really nervous, very strange. It was very stressful having to beat Cinn. and the asshole refs though. They need to be reviewed.
+1. I just kept thinking about what the off season was going to be like with another Doug Brien-style playoff loss, this time with a kicker who made two kicks negated by penalties!
Pretty much this, although I got nervous when they stopped us three and out and Benson scored like that to make it 21-14 with too much time left. Heck I was even getting annoyed at 24-14 late when they hit the long pass to Ochocinco in a zone then Leonard broke off a run on the next play...until the holding got called.
I had no fear in the second half. SOB is a lot stronger than SOJ. I was very nervous in the first quarter when the Jets kept losing the field position battle but those jitters when away when I realized the Bengals weren't going to be able to do much with that. The point in the game where I relaxed was when Greene went 39 yards for the TD. That told me the Bengals vaunted rush defense was a paper tiger.
I was nervous when Coles made of few catches and had the TD, I thought for a split second, watch them loose this game by having Coles have a career day against his old team, that ofcourse did not happen, this D is to good to let that happen, Cincy moved the ball well in the 1st quarter but the Jets made adjustment and it turned out to be a great day!! As long as they don't shoot themselves in the foot, they can beat anybody!
In all seriousness, I actually had to remind myself the game was over a few times. I felt drained. Ridiculous.
