One of them needs to be an option until Joe can fix his fumbling problem. At least through the first 4 weeks.
based on the tweet, sounds to me like the agent told Vrentas the Jets are going to cut Washington. BTW why does everybody seem to think he is better than Woodhead? He had one great hit on ST and then he ran for a whopping 3.5 ypc against scrubs defensively. Woodhead is a guy the staff is high on, obviously they have their reasons, even if the rest of us don't. It's amazing how hard knocks can make everyone fall in love with a guy who is on his 3rd team in as many years. Also i would guess he falls through to the PS pretty easily.
No too enamored with the Turner thing. I guess they just wanted to pump him and he has some history with Sanchez......oh well
slim to none He's not a good route runner. He can only handle 7s, 8s, and 9s it appears. He does not seem to have a great feel for the game on the pro level. He's a fringe player. He will not become the next Tony Martin (a guy the Jets let get away and then became a top WR).
Jets Roster Movements BY E. WEEKS ON 05. SEP, 2010 We will be tracking the Jets’ roster movements throughout the day and will continously update this post. Practice Squad C Robby Felix – According to Jenny Vrentas, the team will assign Felix to the PS. Felix had previously signed on with the Baltimore Ravens in 2008 before heading to the UFL in 2009. Claims WR Patrick Turner – As Steiny noted earlier, the Jets have claimed Turner off waivers. DE Marcus Dixon – According to Dixon’s Twitter account, he has been signed by the Jets. Dixon was previously a member of the Dallas Cowboys when he joined the team in 2008 as an undrafted free agent. Waived WR David Clowney - After signing Turner, the Jets abruptly cut Clowney from the active roster. RB Chauncey Washington – According to Vrentas the Jets plan to waive Washington however they hope to re-sign him to the practice squad.
thats my guess, Rex wants the wrinkles on the wildcat, and that way he can destroy the damn thing this time. Also apparently turner is a decent ST guy, so he will stick around for a week till coles comes in.
Id rather see Freddie Barnes over Turner. Hes a guy who could definitely be built up into our #3 for when we lose someone next year. I mean now that Clowneys gone we dont have anyone who is even capable of stepping into that 3rd spot assuming we let a WR go after this year. As much as I like Brad Smith I dont feel hes a good enough WR for that role
coming from YOU thats really saying something, I may have to reconsider my choice I cant wait to see who fills the roster now
interesting that we brought in another DL, like a said in the ratliff thread, I wanted an extra body on the DL, and looks like we brought one in.
Its clear Barnes isn't ready to be an NFL receiver just yet. He needs time on a PS. thats why I am hoping Tanny can convince him to join ours over Chicagos...
