I am not going to let you know how my life was but guaranteed it was not simple and easy. There was also a time after turning 18 that I did not have the legal right to vote but I did what I had to do to get that right back. I'm sorry that you like so many others want to give a pass and make life a breeze for so many. Fuck that, make them put a little effort into things instead of having it on a fucking platter for them. You say there has been no problem with people voting as others but that just is untrue. There is also a problem with illegal aliens voting which is another issue but needs to be addressed. Of course the current administration blocks the efforts to fix that, why? A known problem with a not too difficult fix but they choose to stop efforts to correct it.
Show me where in the Constitution it says the right to vote should depend on your ability to transport yourself to some government agency's location set up by the state government to obtain an ID? I will save you the trouble - it doesn't.
Libs are so hypocritacal. They are the ones screaming and whining about how the constitution needs to be changed and how we aren't in the 1800s anymore, but here is a prime example of how they don't want it to be changed. It is an absolute joke that I can go vote for myself and then three other people just because I don't have to show my ID. EVERYONE should be required to have some sort of ID on them at all times, not just to vote.
duh. the constitution doesn't say we need to sign our name..... or wait in line.... or use one of those old school booths.... or mark our ballot with pen instead of pencil.... or park in a non handicapped spot unless we're handicapped... etc. etc. etc. if were gonna use that argument. thats a dumb argument because it doesn't apply
how big of a problem really is illegal immigrants and voting?? like honestly. they aren't exactly known for being politically active. Like 1 or 2 examples in this country?
Reminds me of the scene from A Few Good Men Kaffee turns Ross' own cross-examination of one of the Marines against him - Ross points out "Code Reds" aren't in either the Marine handbook nor the handbook about operating on Gitmo, and Kaffee shows that mess halls aren't in the latter either, which doesn't mean Gitmo doesn't have one. Hey, it's not in the Constitution!! _
I hate Obama. I prefer Democrats over Republicans in this country but I truly hate that pussy. So in 2012 just before the elections Sandy happened. Then the word spread that due to storm many potential Obama voters(poor blacks and minorities etc) might not head to polls and vote in New Jersey. So my wife, the communist, who is still a communist told me I should haul my ass to the church in Madison and vote for Obama. I said honey look I love you but I never voted in my life. Not in Turkey, not in USA. Never ever I voted. She said this is the time to vote. Many Obama supporters might not head to polls and we might lose New Jersey. I said fine, to make you happy I will go to church and vote for Obama. So I go to church with my wife to vote for Obama I arrive to church and I tell the guys this is my first time ever and don't know how to vote. They asked my ID and asked if I was a Democrat or Republican. I said I will vote for Obama. Then a Republican took me to the booth and told me how to vote. But I was asked to show my ID. For the first time in my life I voted. And I voted for Obama(Kurdish hating Turkish loving idiot). I will never ever vote again but I am confused. Aren't they asking ID from everyone? If not, why did they ask me an ID? Do I look like a goat loving terrorist from outside?
The point should be obvious, even to a sophist like you - your "observation" about asses and getting off them does not override the Constitution. And for dumbasses like BN the point is that Constitutional rights, the right to vote being one of them, are not to be limited for the mere convenience of the government when some reasonable alternative that maintains that Constitutional right exists, or to fix a problem that does not exist for the political benefit of one party in control of the state government.
My opinions on voting override the Constitution because they are merely my opinions and I am not attempting to deny or take away anyone's right to vote. _
I don't know of anyone talking about changing the Constitution except perhaps by means provided for by the Constitution itself. Nice red herring. And it is the GOP led state governments which seek to change the law to suppress voter turnout that is the issue here. Your example of the potential for voter fraud is a nonsensical hypothetical. There is no evidence this is a problem in real life. But we have had a long and sordid history in this country of state governments suppressing voter turnout, usually for racist reasons. Poll taxes, tests for registration, all done for racist reasons, and I am sure there were plenty of reactionaries at those times who offered weak attempts at rationalizing them, just as you are doing here. Do you have any concern at all that potential voters will be turned away because these new requirements will lead to that result? If that does not concern you, perhaps it might be that you are just fine with that being the net effect in the hope that your team will benefit as a result? I guess if so as I suspect you are not all that in support of the principles of democracy and majority rule.
You are one of my most favorite guys soon you will be least favorite. Stop siding with the insecure dentist. Geez.
First of all, if you are 21 years of age and are eligible to vote, how do you not have any sort of Identification? If you don't have any sort of identification at that age, you probably shouldn't even be allowed to vote. Let's be real here. We want a 21+ year old person, without any sort of identification voting for stuff that can drastically change my life or yours? GET OUT OF HERE. Showing ID to vote isn't about my side winning or your side winning. It is about making sure it is done right and without any shady business going on. I can go vote 500 times If I had the time to do so. That is where my problem lies.
There is simply no evidence of any significant voter fraud. You did not answer my questions about concerns that people will not be able to vote due to voter suppression. That tells me you are fine with voter suppression, and your faux outrage is just a cover. I don't believe for a second you would have the same view here if you felt voter suppression was going to hurt you and people who vote the way you do. I was born at night, but not last night.
