dude... that's pretty harsh. he's just stating his opinion. Anyways i think Vinny T has as much of a chance of getting into the HOF as Ryan Leaf does but still i give him a lot of credit to still be able to play at his age.

Elway, Montana, Young, and Marino all turned pro before Testaverde. Okay, they all did play fewer seasons than did Testaverde. I still don't see how it gives Testaverde an edge.

"A true Jet inside"? What the heck does that mean?

Here is the list of guys who played at least 17 years. You'll note that most of these players had better careers than Testaverde and yet many of them are not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Quarterbacks are in bold.

17 years- Doug Atkins, Matt Bahr, Jim Bakken, John Brodie, Tim Brown, Blair Bush, Chris Chandler, Steve DeBerg, Al Del Greco, Ray Donaldson, Joe Ferguson, Pat Fischer, Irving Fryar, Rich Gannon, Lou Groza, Mike Kenn, Dan Marino, Warren Moon, Ricky Proehl, Junior Seau, Mick Tingelhoff, Mike Webster, Ed White, Wade Wilson, Rod Woodson

18 years- Lomas Brown, Lee Johnson, Norm Johnson, Charlie Joiner, Sonny Jurgensen, Pat Leahy, Nick Lowery, Ron McDole, Craig Morton, Fran Tarkenton, Johnny Unitas, Jeff Van Note

19 years- Ray Brown, John Carney, Len Dawson, Jeff Feagles, Jim Hart, Dave Krieg, Bruce Matthews, Clay Matthews, Eddie Murray, Bruce Smith, Jan Stenerud

20 years- Darrell Green, Trey Junkin, Jim Marshall, Jerry Rice, Jackie Slater, Vinny Testaverde

21 years- Sean Landeta, Earl Morrall

    23 years- Gary Anderson

    24 years- Morten Andersen

    26 years- George Blanda

The three years Vinny started for the Jets the team went 12 & 4, 9 & 7 and 10 & 6. The 9 & 7 and 10 & 6 came after a year out with an achiles tendon tear and he was 37 and 38 years old. The guy was a warrior for us when most NFL QB's are done.

I still love Vinny and I'll never forget 1998. The one time where he failed to stay healthy (1999) unfortunately was probably our best chance to get to the bowl... But he hasn't put together enough solid seasons to even get considered for the HOF, way too many picks and average numbers.
