ironically enough, thats pretty much the reason why i got banned from JI. as for whats with it, i dunno, a friend of my started saying it about a month ago, and i picked it up, and it really is a solid word. i figure instead of sayiing buddy, or brother, or whatever, mate, is basically the same thing. we're all Jets fans, we're all mates in a way!!! no harm intended by it, mate!

    vinny is completely worthless...
its a shame he couldnt get a free ride to a ring...
him and marino...and for some reason karl malone have already lined up contracts with the colts for next season
and just incase that doesnt work he is prepared to literally sell his soul for a ring
vinny is garbage...retire and become a coach

Well Vinny was one Tom Brady TD pass away from getting that ring. I think the Bears match up better with the Colts than they do the Pats.

Well shouldn't you be happy then? It's his "jinx" that helped end Brady and the Chowds run....

What are you gonna do when Vinny retires? You should proably start catching up on his personal life once he stops playing football. Maybe visit him at his house or sumthin I think he'd like that.

Why the hell would you want him to succeed as a Pat?

Jetsrock16, I don't get how Vinny getting a ring for doing absolutely nothing would make you feel better about his situation. The 3rd string QB doesn't even deserve a ring, he's done nothing to contribute other than taking a knee.

In my books, if Pats had won I still wouldn't have considered it a Super Bowl victory for Vinny. He did nothing for them.

This thread is stupid. Vinny didn't win a superbowl...who cares? Think of how many other players never won a ring...

I hate the Patriots and I would never root for them to win a superbowl just because they have Vinny "im desperate for a ring" Testaverde who is their 3rd string QB.

he's done it all in his career, except hes never won a ring. 1998 has not been completed, and will not be completed until he wins it, and i hope he does win it before he leaves, its the only fitting ending.

It's Vinnys fault that the Pats lost. Brady was clearly struggling in the second half and needed someone with experience to console him. Too bad Vinny was too busy running to the concession stand every five minutes. Jeez...

The game was already out of hand, vinny played great overall in the AFC Title game and his teammates fumbled it away.

The Jets still had a shot, Vinny put the final stab in the Jets with his 2 late INTs. Yes their were fumbles.

But your QB has got to find a way to get your team back in it, and his INTs were the final nails in the coffin.

trying to pass when they know e had to pass and score 2 late Tds is not a favorable position and we still owuld have had a chance if Alex Van Dyke doesn't fumble. Vinny was the last person on the team to blame for that loss.

Tell me something....Replace Alex Van Dyke with Coles....Replace any scrub with the so-called "sure-handed" Keith Byars...I think the Jets would be in a different situation.

And by the way, if your last statement is true, then what about the Jets Defense? They couldn't stop Terrell....They couldn't stop McCaffrey....they couldn't slow down Elway!

To use your statement : "But your DEFENSE has got to find a way to KEEP YOUR TEAM IN THE BALLGAME, and their inability to do so were the final nails in the coffin."

I mean they didn't even get one single stop to prevent Denver from scoring so that Vinny would get another shot at it with not as much pressure as he got when he all of a sudden knew that if he didn't get his team a score, that the Broncos would on the next possession.
