    Young over Brady?...

Wow, the Pro Bowl really is a joke.

You say maybe 2 or 3? That is ridiculous. No one can say how the season would have went without Chad. It may have been worse but it may have been better. But Chad was just not that good. Feel free to be blinded by your love of Chad but it is just not objective. He was this year, AT BEST, average, which in my mind means he did not win us many games if any, over what we would have won with another QB at the helm.

By the way: he's probably my favorite Jet.

Chad did not have a pro bowl season. He had a feel good come back season, thats why he won Comeback Player of the Year.

Maybe if they forgot to actually replace Pennington with another person, yeah. I could see how having Mangold snap the ball, only for no one to be standing there, could shave 7 or 8 wins off the Jets season.

I just don't think the whole measure of the job Pennington did is bourne out by the statistics - he took an offense with no apparent potential and won 10 games with them, kept them pointing in the right direction and simple led. Young didn't do that, Losman didn't do that, Carr didn't do that. Presuming McNair and Brady are the no-shows I just don't see that Pennington wouldn't be next in line. Sure he wasn't the best in the Conference, but I think 5th is fair.

Deserving or not, I'd just as soon see Chad not go there and play in the game. What is the risk/reward? No thanks.

I think it's fair to say that the Jets were this year's feel good story that no one cared about.

Seriously, I don't think your average NFL fan that roots for a team outside the AFC East could name three players on the Jets. They would say Pennington, Coles, and then draw a blank.

Vilma is well known around the league.. more so than coles and pennington. infact i believe he is our most marketed player. when is the last time you seen coles do interview on espn muchless a commercial.

    F*@K the Pro Bowl!

I'd rather see Chad rest or begin his Off season training program under the supervision of our people. I bet he could care less about being a Pro Bowl alternate.

The Pro Bowl is a joke indeed. Kerry Rhodes isn't even going to be there.

    Enough said.

For the final time though, Pennington didn't have a Pro Bowl season, but he did have a Top 6 QB in the AFC Season.

What is this horrible perception that we had no talent on offense?

We added the top LT and C in the first round, drafted a guy with second-third round talent in the 4th with Leon, already owned a great reciever in Coles, and had a young up and comer in Cotchery. I realize LT and C are tough to handle, but both guys played very well. Coles and Cotch were great recievers this year. Leon and Brad Smith were playmakers this year.

Just because the media didn't see big names doesn't mean there wasn't potential. The same thing was said about the Florida Marlins, except that many people missed that the rookies they put on the field were some of the better prospects in the game. This was a team with alot more potential than given credit for.

Chad's 5 yard slants that Coles and Cotch could turn into 77 yard TDs are an example of the kind of underrated talent we had.

Sorry, but if Pennington wasn't a Jet but was a FA, nobody here would be saying THIS GUY IS THE GUY. We'd acknowledge he was a solid QB, but little more than a stop gap.

I didn't say "no potential", I said "no apparent potential". It's different.

They have a hard enough time getting people to watch the Pro Bowl without putting bores like Pennington on the roster. I think it's safe to say that no one outside the sphere of Jets fans(and some inside) would care to watch Pennington play. Vince Young is an exciting player.

are you crazy? our recievers are light years better. this was the team picking in front of us that we smacked around week 1. Vince Young singehandedly takes over a losing team and almost takes them to the playoffs. Pennington managed to throw 1 more TD than a pick.

all I know is Chad has about 1-2 yrs left here and Vince Young is the future of the league. hands down.

They'd probably also say Curtis Martin.

I am sick of all the CHAD nonsense. Let the guy win something, for a change, and then lets talk about him. The guy is mediocre at best!

    I'd like to call BS.

To say that ONE GUY turned that team around is pretty amazing.

They had one of the best rushing offenses in the league, and I've heard a few Titan fans credit much of the teams improvement to a few changes on the O-line.

Young looks like a bigger Mike Vick to me. People were saying the exact same things about Vick like 2-3 years ago.
