We all know that Rex knows how coach up defense.

The Jets practice all week. If Rex sees that the O is running predictable or to defend plays and does nothing to rectify the situation, whose that on?

If, as you say, Rex is deferring to his OC's, even if he might think they are not doing a good job, then he's asking to get fired.

Parcells would often take the play calling away from his OC's if he didn't like what he saw.

So the 3 coaches Schotty was under all told him to do the same things? That's news to me.

Rex said he was furious at Schotty after one of the games last year and wanted to fire him.
"Sources told the Daily News that Ryan was so angry about the game plan and execution that night that he nearly fired then-offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer after the 34-17 defeat.

I really think he lets the OC do what he does. I think he defers to them thinking they know more than him. Ironically, this would be time for Rex to actually speak up and be the loudmouth, confident guy he is and take control of the offense. He's growing as a coach, hopefully he learns this with us
