Jets have had a terrible offseason so far. I fail to see how potentially filling one hole with a guy that hasn't been good in two years while creating two huge holes qualifies as a successful offseason.
By releasing Jones and trading Rhodes, we can attempt to fill those holes with concrete instead of the quicksand that was already in them. I don't think we've had a successful offseason yet, but I like where it's headed. I just found it amusing that any writer would call it the best offseason in the league so far when so many here feel it's been an unmitigated disaster.
Uncertainty will do that. Jones and Rhodes were familiar faces. People are comfortable with what they know. But losing a 32 year old RB, a pussy two-faced FS, and gaining a solid #2 CB for a 2011 pick is what good teams do. the Steelers let Faneca go and then went on to win a SB. If the Jets let Faneca go after 2007, they'd attack Florham Park.
