Does anyone have VG's home address? I picked up an application from Burger King and would like to send it to him.

Thats pretty good, and sadly true but for the money he stole from the Jets

Vernon Gholston worships Satan and he also has terrible taste in literature.

Let him eat, roid and bodybuild until he is heavy enough to play DE. I mean, there is no way he could become worse than he already is.

God, At least we didn't draft Jamarcus Russell; he sucks even worse than Gholston.

Russell could probably play LB better than Gholston.

    Maybe Gholston should play QB!

If he did, it would be the closest he ever got to the ball.

The Russell/Gholston comparison is valid for one reason.

Neither has any idea of how truly bad they are. After last year, Gholston was interviewed, said he was satisfied with the progress he was making. Russell has echoed that comment (Jamarcus is slightly more delusional) saying that he thought he has played well.

You can't improve if you don't recognize the need to improve.

Somebody needs to get in Vern's ear and tell him he's a bust. We all assume that since the media, all of us, anybody who watches football knows that these guys suck, they must know it as well. Fact is, these clowns have an army of "friends" around them, assuring them otherwise. Everybody else is just a "hater."

ADDED: I also think they we can't take for granted that because they play professional football, they're fans of professional football. I doubt Russell has ever watched tape of Brady or Manning, and I doubt Vernon Gholston even knows who James Harrison is.

Gholston is a bust in every sense of the word.

People justify his current play with comparisons which make his play to that of a below average DE/DT. He was drafted to be a premier pass rusher he is more likely to win strictly come dancing than achieve that.

I almost considered posting this in its own thread. That way people could hate Mangini and Gholston in one thread instead of multiple ones! Also, there's some shit on Edwards in here too.

Does the Sheppard contract work like that even if we don't extend him but we let him hit FA? God I hate how these contracts are intricate... you made a contract now make it public damn it!

I'm guessing Edwards gets to 64 passes unless our week 17 game against Cincy becomes a playoff tie-breaker.

As for Gholston I agree he is garbage and I agree he is not useful as of now but I'm cool with having 9LB on the team... 4OLB + 4ILB + Westermann (can play both). Unless we find a good OLB prospect next year's summer for cheap let's keep him around one more year (inactive on gameday until he gets better of course). Plus we run a hybrid D and as a 4-3 DE he can still get some snaps. But for this season I'd prefer to have Murrell active and Gholston inactive.

Contract-wise we can anticipate most of those guaranteed $$$ so that in 2011 we can cut him, if needed, at almost no extra cap hit.

I'd love to trade him to the Browns for Trusnik :p
