You obviously have first hand knowledge of his hatred for football.

he couldn't possibly appear any more disinterested out there. sure i'm speculating, but it certainly appears that he doesn't enjoy the game. he doesn't enjoy contact. that much i am sure of.

It appears that in the early 2 rounds of the draft it is easier to find cubic zirconium while paying for diamonds then it is to pay for cubic zirconium while finding a diamond.

Maybe the Jets should just trade all their picks and bring in about 10 to 12 4th round picks each year; maybe there would be increased odds in increased numbers.

I mean DRob was kinda a bust realitive to his draft position, but at least we did get some play out of him and at times, and it was pretty good. VG has shown absolutely nothing thus far; and it is a very legitimate cause of worry that we are possibly burnt once again just because we won the most meaniingless game of the century last year when we beat KC and a pathetic performance.

    No chance

Houston had an illness, plus he had a rookie min contract.

    Gholston has a $40,000,000 contract. That's a lot of 0's

Mario Williams wasn't hapless on the field his rookie year.

He wasn't a good player yet- but he showed flashes of raw ability and instincts, like most highly touted rookies do.

    Gholston doesn't. At all.

Honestly, if he were practically any other player (ala, not our most recent top 10 pick) he would have been cut by now- and I'm not sure he'd have been picked up by anyone else...

I was never a believer, but I do want to give him time..... Needless to say though, what we've seen so far is very, very bad...

Who do you want to replace with Gholston so he can start?

LB group has been playing pretty well to date. I am normally the first to kill a player for sucking, but he really hasn't played that much and you need to give him some more time.

    He played A LOT yesterday.

Nobody here is clamoring for him to start- but we want to see something other than a complete lack of competence when he does get on the field...

Like I said, I'll call out everyone, (please see my sig) but yesterday is not a good barometer, since our entire D looked clueless except for Revis.

Our entire D played poorly. They didn't look clueless. There's a big difference.

Gholston has yet to show a glimmer of instincts, or technique, or even natural speed or strength since he's been here. It's not deniable.

We should have picked the player that was a true linebacker and that was Jerod Mayo. We fell for the combine workout warrior hype again. Mayo was all over the field when the Pats played us. We got suckered yet again.

what's wrong with benching a rookie, even a top 10 guy, if you are currently sitting at first place in your division?

I think Jenkins gets at QBs faster than Gholston

yea the two times he was running after a qb it looked like he had the speed of a dt. I have been always saying give him more time but recently, Ive had nothing but hatred for this kid. Looks slow as molasses and like he could give 2 shits. Fuck if i was his size on special teams id be fucking people up. This kid has no desire to play the game

The good news here is for Malumula, now his name won't be the one brought up at every draft as the ultimate workout warrior.

I totally lost it on that play at the stadium.
I was screaming towards the field is such a rage.
He not only didn't pursue with speed, he actually let up at one point as if the play was over.

Even on special teams it looks as if he just doesn't want to be out there. He seems to have ZERO interest in playing football.

He jogs, doesn't pursue, tackles half heartedly with 1 arm. It looks as if he's just going through the motions.

This has all the makings of a distaster.

Good chance he will be a bust at this point but we have to wait until a while before we can say he truly is one. It would be so horrible for the salary cap and having to replace him. I truly hope this offseason they run his ass into the ground, get him back into his playing shape at OSU and get that mean streak back when he was ripping off the heads of big ten qbs.
