What makes you think he doesn't have the tools? Give me an example? I said PHYSICAL tools, not actual skill.
Physically he's not an agile enough player. He may have been able to run fast in a straight line in gym shorts but that speed didn't ever translate to an NFL football field, which meant he couldn't play standing up in space as an OLB, and doesn't help him when he has his hand down in the ground either. His hips are stiff as fuck. etc etc etc
According to his Combine stats... He runs the 40 in 4.56 sec, has a 35" vertical and can do 37 reps on the 225 lb. bench. Doing it at 6'3 and almost 270 lbs!
Cut this guy and I see the Pats using him, sorry I just seeing them as vultures waiting for our dead meat
Yeah, and next you'll be waving those numbers around on a sheet of paper as you watch him fucking up on the practice field.
yeah i thought it was beyond obvious at this point those numbers are meaningless and probably inflated...those numbers don't reflect his (lack of) ability to change directions which is his main problem. he's got a decent ability to push the pocket but he can't do shit with it and that's why he doesn't command double teams as a 3-4 end
He's gone cause we're not going to give him the $2.5 million roster bonus he would be due if we keep him. But I agree, watch a 4-3 team pick him up and do something useful with him.
If we cut him & he turns into the next Lawrence Taylor then our CS failed miserably in in not using his assets properly :jets:
Well, it would actually be TWO coaching staffs who "did not use his assets properly" One staff could be a SOJ CS failure, but two? I think its the player. I've never seen a fired-up effort from him. Remember in his rookie season when he slowly trailed the QB (forget who it was)across the field, at an O.J./Ford Bronco level pace, until the QB released the ball. No fire at all. There's no way he turns into the next Lawrence Taylor
You must have lived one of the most miserable existences in the history of mankind. But you wouldn't have it any other way. :drunk:
