Today is ranking up there with the fake spike game, BB one day headcoaching tenure and Kotite era. Even my kids know to read before you agree to anything. Add in the fact the Jets were the ones to toot their own horn makes it worse.
Very interesting move. Did coach Ryan make this reuqest? Did he pass on it? Who's running the show? I think I see the shadow of the hand of the Tannenbaum. At any rate, Tebow brings various talents to the table that I think will provide some nice change of pace plays on offense and if done properly would be more than just a complement to the Mark and Santonio soap opera. Very interesting.
What is going on here??? Man, this organization is SO shortsighted, impatient, and neglects the importance of team unity and chemistry. Let them be. Develop young players drafted. Let Sanchez have a trio of receivers whom he can throw to more than just a year or two.
I hope this is true: NFL Network's Mike Lombardi is "hearing" that the Jaguars are close to acquiring Tim Tebow from the Broncos. Lombardi previously wrote on his Twitter account that the Jags had acquired Tebow, but he was citing a fake Tebow Twitter page. "But this is not fake," Lombardi now claims. "I am hearing the Jags are close to making this happen." If so, the Jaguars will have swooped in to acquire Tebow from the Jets' clutches. The Jets thought their midday trade of Tebow was official, before reading the details of his contract and reneging on the initial deal. (Rotoworld)
It's going to be funny if the Jets: 1. Thought they had Tebow 2. Announced they had Tebow 3. Fucked up in their due diligence and lost Tebow 4. Attempted to resolve issue and finalize with Tebow again 5. Finally have the Jags come back and sweep him out from under them Comical.
I think I am just now finally starting to get what being a Jets fan is truly all about. Bad seasons are one thing but how confusing have these past two off seasons been? Besides a few solid draft picks I dunno, this seems like the type of goof ups that are remembered as the fall of an era. The start of another cycle...hard to believe I'm saying this after AFCCG two years in a row but, this combination of Woody/Tanny/Rex is being weird as fuck: Asomugha and the ripple effect of last season's FA, Tebow, Tebow contract screw-up, Ducasse, Scotty McKnight, (Powell maybe?), trying to trade Bart Scott's guaranteed contract, that entire O-line gaffe last offseason that they don't seem to recall killed the offense, contradiction between Sanchez extension and having 4 QBs on the team, contradiction between guaranteeing Hunter's contract and then desperately shopping him a month later, Rex saying he didn't have the pulse of the team while Holmes drops cancer turds all over the field, signing Plaxico Firing Schotty may be the only thing that's been soundly a good decision. I'm overreacting but holy hell man.
I worked in a sporting goods store that year and managed to steal one. It's nice nostalgia to wear every SB Sunday.
