WAIT WAIT - i think i said that wrong - god likes the jets - thats why he stopped the tim tebow trade i dunno -
It all depends on his role. But it doesnt matter. He will infect the fanbase. Not his fault. This is going to suck.
As a Patriot fan, I couldn't be happier with this trade. You now have a back up QB that is inaccurate and makes poor decisions with the ball to replace your starting QB that is inaccurate and makes poor decisions with the ball.
Fuck Tebow. I won't ever root for him. He isn't good enough to play in the NFL. He is the most overrated player ever in the NFL. It just sickens me that the Jets would trade for this guy.
Sorry, you don't touch off a media shit storm, and risk a season long QB controversy, in order to bring in a wildcat specialist. Just doesn't make sense.
Agreed here. Too many headlines, and I've never really complained about that until now. This is the way Woody Johnson gets his team in the headlines. HOWEVER, I think this move can work. If there is anybody in the league who can maximize Tebows potential, its Sparano. Would I have made the trade? No is the answer. However, we are stuck with this and in all reality, it may not be THAT bad.
This was a terrible, terrible move by the Jets. Tanny already named him the #2 QB. Here comes the Jesus mob.
This. Football-wise it's completely nonsensical. A fourth AND a sixth for a supposed backup QB who can't throw? Whatever were they thinking? IMO, if this wasn't just a very stupid publicity stunt, then I think that your owner (I can't believe a GM would think this but maybe I'm overestimating Tannenbaum's football IQ) wanted this trade with the idea that maybe the Jets can pull off what Denver did last season: insert Tebow when the starting Qb struggles and create a playoff run. The problem with that line of thinking is that the AFCE isn't the AFCW and 8 wins isn't going to get you into the playoffs; teams now have film on Tebow; and both the Bills and the Pats showed the rest of the league how to successfully defense him last season. I think that if the Jets actually try this, they are going to be in the Matt Barkley derby ... of course, maybe that is the brilliant plan!
I just can't get over the ridiculous overreaction to such an insignificant move. The guy will run the Wildcat package and touch the ball 4 or 5 times a game. Anyone who thinks it amounts to more than that is crazy. There is NO QB controversy. Do you think the Jets don't know the guy can't throw? Do you think they've never seen him play?? What do you think they plan on doing with him ... lining him up in the shotgun and throwing the ball 40 times?? This is all so stupid. As soon as Sparano was hired, it shoud have been obvious to everyone that the Wildcat was coming back. We may as well run it with the best person available.
Doesn't help that Tanny came out and said Tebow is the #2 QB. This means he passed McElroy and Stanton on the depth chart already?
A huge sideshow was just added to Circus JETS........ The past 9 months have made me really 2nd guess the decision making of this franchise..... and this is after never feeling as good as I did in 2010. I hope that I'm wrong, but I think dark days are waiting down the road.
IF the Jets were a halfway well run organization instead of the clown show/Jersey Shore that Woody has turned it into, Tanny would have been fired well before he got to make this stupid and inexplicable move.
I always knew Rex era wouldn't end well. I just thought it would last a little longer. We are a joke. And the whole he is a winner shit. If we had a fucking safety that could play. He is not a winner, he doesn't make the playoffs and Tebow-mania isn't all this hype.
six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve doooo doo do dooo doo do do do doooo do do do dooooooo doooooooooooooooo.(death star has removed his post so the joke is now dead). For about 5 minutes yesterday I stopped being a Jet fan:-( We've made it through this long and we'll make it through this.
