Cuomo and De Blasio carrying on about gun control and gun safety. The guy used a Home Depot truck. Just sayin'. The reason they went there is because of Paddock and being overly PC, but hey, Paddock didn't commit an act of terror, right? So which is it? The only reason I went there was because both of them said we should not politicize this. What? Didn't you just politicize it by bringing up gun control? The massacre in Vegas is beyond deserving of a national conversation, and yes, a lot of things are broken, but didn't they completely contradict themselves or is that just me? "This should not be about politics." OK.
Yeah, I really don't get it. If his goal was to kill as many people as possible, why wouldn't he try to get his hands on some real weapons, or create a bomb. He's either stupid as hell, or had other ideas in mind. It makes you wonder what goes on in these people's heads.

I also spoke to a close friend who lives in NYC (has all her life) just to be on the safe side - she's fine - but the general attitude is sadness mixed in with ten times more defiance. And guess what? NO-ONE SAID THEY WERE SCARED. I was born in Manhattan, and while I admit I shouldn't get more inflamed than it happening somewhere else in the U.S. - because it all sucks - I really wish in a way that the cops had blown his fckn head off. Amazing restraint on the part of that officer. An FYI, not all cops are bad. It's better that he got taken alive for info purposes, sure, but then just tell him he has incurable cancer and give him the most aggressive chemo imaginable when you find out all you can. We'll look like a bunch of goddamn humanitarians. I mean, hey, the gov't has done a hell of a lot worse things. Yes, it's my anger talking. I feel terrible for the victims and their families. Sheese, and those Argentinians - 5 of them, ugh. America first, but my Daddy was born in Buenos Aires so it made me feel really bad. Huge Italian population there. There's a monument (Manfredi Lighthouse) on Janiculum Hill in Rome dedicated to the people of Argentina. I was so mad and upset last night I had a very tough time sleeping. They are saying he'd been preparing for weeks and scouted the location a few times. It's hard to target a once a year event, unless you have knowledge of the security, roadblocks, etc. He just chose a very soft target and went for it.
But he had a Florida driver's license and a residence in the Tampa area. It's pretty easy to buy a firearm there.

I can't stand it when people say "Let's no politicize this" honestly. To me, it's just a BS way of trying to avoid having an argument that needs to be had.
Read back. The politicizing thing, Cuomo and De Blasio were using a battering ram saying not to politicize this attack, but after the Vegas massacre, everyone was saying why isn't this politicized? It needs to be politicized! Why can't we talk about this for what it is! So then they started yammering about gun control in NY and why no-one else was killed because of strict gun laws in NY. So yeah, they politicized it and no-one wanted to go near the attack for what it was.
