This is spot on. However, if the people who set up the line believe the majority of the wiseguys are convinced the Bengals will sit their starters, it's reasonable to assume the line setters think so as well.

    You are wrong.

The Jets have not played a good game in a while, and the betting public believes the Bengals are a better team. I've been studying this all season.

The loss to San Diego was better than any of our recent games.

Since the line is set so high, they'd get killed if the Bengals played their starters. Money would come in heavily on the Bengals, driving the line way down, and then people would jump on the Jets, giving them a huge middle (an opportunity to win both sides if the result fell in between the opening line and the later line).

Would it be in really poor taste to take the Bengals and the ML, because I'm half-expecting a SOJ collapse, even against the backups.

So true. Atlanta, Jax, Miami and Buffalo games all fall into this category. And don't get me started on other seasons!!

I like your style Yisman. Have to agree with everything you wrote.

Personally I'm piling on the +9 and hoping the line goes down to give me a middle that includes the 7 and maybe even the 6.

Come Sunday I'll take any win that gets us in the play offs but a nice middle will cap off a fantastic last four betting weeks of the season

The line is maxed out now, at 10. I don't see what news could come out that would result in the line going up. It has nowhere to go but down from here.

Especially when Rex goes on TV ans says, he's told Schotty to take the cuffs of Mark "The Mad Bomber" Sanchez and implement the 5 wide no huddle attack this week...

The Jets are pretty vanilla on offense and the D has shown most of what they have through the season.

I don't think there is too much of a factor with this.

There are 15 games of tape to watch, I don't think Cincy has been holding back any special plays.

The win will give the Jets momentum.

We kick their ass 2 weeks in a row, no problem.

Time for Brian Schottenheimer to bring back the double reverse pass! Cutesy will like that.

We only kick the ass of bad teams. Against good teams, our pass rush isn't that good, and the defense struggles in big situations, and the lack of a passing game also gets exposed. We're a good team, and I think we can beat Cincinnati twice in a row, but we're not good enough to talk as much as we are.

and if we could even do that consistently, we would have already clinched a playoff spot.

This season has just sucked after the first four games.

Because we've had an unbelievable string of good fortune. Almost every thing that needed to fall our way the last three weeks, did.

All the AFC wildcard contenders fell apart.

    Week 15:

    Jets lose to Falcons
    Jaguars lose to Colts
    Dolphins lose to Titans
    Broncos lose to Raiders

    Week 16:

    Ravens lose to Steelers
    Dolphins lose to Texans
    Jaguars lose to Patriots
    Titans lose to Chargers
    Broncos lose to the Eagles
