If this was the SOJ, he’d have been our head coach this year. SOJ trade 2021, 2022 1st and 2nd round picks to go from 2 to 1 to get TL and hire Urban Meyer. No Jet has killed anyone in a car crash No Jet has tweeted about how unhappy he is No Jet was just overpaid & now underperforming No Jet was exposed for incendiary emails from their past It’s a really low bar, but they earned it
What choice did Jacksonville have here? Nothing was going right and there were a lot of "Urban Meyer" stories in the press from all angles and none of them good. If Robert Saleh had a video of him getting handsy with a girl not his wife in a bar he'd be out of here also.
Something about kicking the kicker is unintentionally funny. What a psycho. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...night-move-after-less-than-one-season-on-job/
I know people sometimes like to celebrate when a bad coach gets fired. Schadenfreude and all that. But at times like these it's important to remember how hard it can be for a coach and his family. Particularly his family. Like Urban Meyer's family who has to spend more time with him now. Can you imagine the torment they're going through?
It's urban renewal time in Jacksonville. I wonder if he was fired for cause, which would get the team off the hook for the rest of his contract. It sure sounds like the owner has been building a case for for-cause termination.
I would imagine he won't be getting his contract money. Just the lap dance (when the rest of the team left the state) should have been enough to fire him. Add everything else on top of that. What a sad hire for Jacksonville. Worst part is everyone knew it was bad.
Urban wanted to get fired from day 1. He was probably a week away from going full costanza and wearing the tony boselli jersey from the display case to a wing party.
Schefter alluded to a big legal battle coming where they’re going to try to deny all of the next four years because they fired him for cause. Rightfully so IMO but I’m sure he’ll get a settlement. I always followed CFB but maybe not the coaching habits. Was Urb always like this? Or did he just turn into a raging lunatic because he hated that a lot of the players made more money than him and weren’t gonna hit during the week?
He was always like it and was known for quitting jobs. Read all about it on wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urban_Meyer#Leave_of_absence Jacksonville must have known what he was like before appointing him
