you need to learn how to read. I didn't definitively say he will be a starter, I said he could.

Rogers has some nice potential and pretty good football IQ, albeit I thought the same thing about Jordan White last year.

While scouting Bray (on youtube), I noticed that Rogers was his lifeline type of player when things broke down. He wasn't featured as much, because Bray had an immense arm, and Patterson and Hunter were open early and often enough that things didn't break down all that often.

I'd say the 5th WR spot should come down between him and White. Can have Holmes, Hill, Kerley, FA (Braylon? Lloyd?), and White/Rogers.

I think Jordan White was a Sporano casualty last year, in fact our entire passing game except Kerley were Sporano casualties. I think Jordan White flourishes under Marty. That said ... I will guess our receiving corps will be (if we don't add anyone else):

    Holmes
    Hill
    Kerley
Gates (he has deep speed, has return ability, and showed a little bit last year in a crappy offense)
    White
    Rodgers

    Practice Squad:

    Spadola
    Mayo

I pretty much agree with this, especially Rogers, Davis and Shanahan as far as making the opening day 53 man. Miles is a little more iffy just because of this competition level but I'd be surprised if he doesn't make the PS.

But all of them have legit shots given the lack of depth at their relative positions.

I'm most intrigued by Rogers and Davis. Rogers could easily become the next incarnation of Chrebet type of reciever on the club, he's cut from pretty much the same mold (not saying he'll equal Wayne, but he's the same type of player).

Davis is a speedy OLB who drew a lot of attention for his instinctive pass rush ability, but he's very raw....I really think he makes the opening 53 just as OLB depth but also as a special teams player.

Shanahan, well lets face it the Jets have little cap space and a very thin TE group, and Shanahan has potenetial but he's rough. Also a good potential special teams player.

Since your laughing you really haven't looked at our Safeties this year. Two were rookies last year. If you take Landry out the other 4 safeties have played a total of 35 NFL games, combined!

so yeah, a UDFA Safeety does have a good shot at making the team and if he does well in pre-season actually starting.

Probably should add that the other 4 safeties combine for 0 interceptions and 0 passes defended and a grand combined total of 41 tackles. Of course in fairness 3 of the 4 safeties were rookies in 2012, and the other was a rookie in 2011.

Now that I look at that fully it's a bit depressing actually....

But Allen and Bush do have high potential...but right now it's just potential.

I like Gates. He showed some promise last year, plus he has good speed.

He's a D-II undrafted Saftey without elite athleticism, if he starts this team should be expecting a very high draft pick.

cant see Gates and McKnight both beind active, Mayo over Gates due to his physicality we need another big physical WR to pair with Hill while Holmes, Kerley and hopefully Rogers become our underneath guys

Well it depends on how Mayo comes out. If he's no good then if rather have Gates who can possibly be a weapon in Marty's offense.

It could be possible, our offensive scheme last year was just terrible. League all but begging teams to start throwing more and avoid as much of the hard contact running, yet we counter by having a RB that runs into the middle of the line for 2 yards every play, a QB that is running into his own lineman, a FB masquerading as a backup QB, and the most predictable passing game out there with those inside slants.

I remember White being graded pretty well at the combine too for his initial burst and speed as well as his good hands. I think he got hurt last year, and then just fell out of favor.

I'd like to see more 4 WR sets this year, just spread out the offense. Go hurry-up. We don't have all the tools to go step for step with the good to great offenses in the league, so why not throw some wrinkles in with a fast paced offense?

Miles looks like can make it in the nfl, he looked a little bit like Matt Elam with his tackling ability. He did play D2 but my prediction is he makes the 53 man roster and is a stud on special teams and becomes a starter for us in 2-3 years.

Receivers- I'm really hoping mayo makes an impact, he looks like he is capable of playing in the nfl.
Gates impressed me last year, I thought he stepped in and played pretty well. He can be an impact in Marty's system
Holmes-I'm hoping he returns to form. He had a pretty good start to the season last year and was targeted a bunch.
Hill-he is the make or break player for this offense. I'm hoping Marty can help him out and get him more touches. I would like to see Some wide reciever screens this year. To me they haven't existed at all in our offense in the last 6 years.
Kerley- he is a solid slot receiver. With two consistent threats on the outside Kerley can be a dominate slot reciever in my opinion. Last year he was the only receiver that stayed healthy.

Holmes was out most of the year. Hill missed 5 games. We had guys coming in from free agency and playing a lot of time, Hill2. It was pretty tough to get in any kind of rythm with all the injuries.
It's hard to learn a playbook and gain chemistry with your qb in one season let alone in 5 days. This is also an excuse I have for Sanchez.

Troy Davis has been constantly making weed references on his Twitter.

He'll be out of the league before he's even in it.

REally? What's his hashtag? I've looked and can't find a UCF or Jets Troy davis on Twitter, lots' of Troy davis's there, but none I can ID as the Jets signee, though there are a couple of troy davis's with a lot of trash drug talk.

    Its non-stop from this guy ... http://www.theganggreen.com/new-york-jets-tweets/2013/05/06/

Most of it isn't going to be thought highly of by the NFL. The dumbass has to clean it up if he wants a shot. Hope he does, because he was the one outside passrushing prospect we brought in from this draft class.

    (yes i mean Troy Davis)
