I think he'll be a 3-4 OLB in this scheme...looks like a solid pass rusher. Hope the local kid makes the team...
Why is everybody so down on Hodges as our punter? I know he's nothing fantastic, but the guy came in and was consistent. It wouldn't be the worst thing if he was our punter again next season
Every weekend in the fall I usually watch the Jets game and the Giants game, and Feagles is so good it makes our guys look terrible. We could do better than Hodges.
DE Zach Potter (Nebraska) may stick... 6'7" 280 with "room to grow." Also played TE in HS but I think he can be coached up to add depth at DE.
Here's what we have so far, surprised we didn't bring in a WR. Definitely working the remaining DLs and TEs but Tanny needs to get more active! DE Jamaal Westerman (Rutgers) TE Andrew Davie (Arkansas) DL Matt Kroul (Jets) P T.J. Conley (Idaho) TE Robert Myers (Utah State) DE Zach Potter (Nebraska)
Yes! I loved Potter, this is a great move. Plus, Callahan knows him and will surely give him opportunities.
Davie : "OUTLOOK: The former minor league baseball player figures to be a key part of Arkansas’ offense this season at tight end/H-back. An effective blocker on the edge in the running game" http://www.arkansasrazorbacks.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=6100&ATCLID=526195
5 blocked kicks in his career, 2 picks and 7 broken up passes in 2008. Says here he is a tweener for the 4-3 and might be best as a 3-4 end: http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles...profile-tab-set-1:player-profile-tab-analysis
J'Nathan Bullock comes to the Jets from Cleveland State where he played Basketball. Well, it worked for Gates.
interesting... these guys are generally flat out athletes who know how to go get the ball, just look at Gates. Sadly very few people have the size/speed that Gates has, so this guy should be naturally good at being physical and going for the ball, but he really needs to work hard on his blocking early.
