RB is a position where you can find good talent in later rounds. Saquon might be a great NFL player, but he won't have nearly the same impact a FQB would. If the Jets stayed put and he fell to 6, I'd understand it if they took him. But now that they've given up three 2nd rounders to move up to 3, they're taking a QB. Hopefully the right one.
with the QB position for this team being an absolute cluster fuck 90% of their history, they better take the QB. doesnt matter if barkely has a cape on his back with letter S, we have to take QB.
I would agree with Barkley at 3 IF we already had a FQB in place. We have an extremely tenuous Qb situation which rules out anything other than Qb @ 3. This is the end result of BPA-D year after year after year. This is what happens when you ignore offensive skill positions early in multiple drafts. This is also what happens when you had a QB blind HC (Rex) followed by a QB blind GM (Macc). Macc has to prove he can spot tier 1 Qb talent or his 2 year extension and a dollar won't buy a pack of gum. A lot of forces at play this draft and all of it Macc bought on himself with sketchy Qb picks. He has to pick a QB AND he has to get it right the first time. That's why if you notice, Macc is approaching this draft like a person about to present his PHD thesis on advanced mathematical chaos theory.
As a graduate student, I am inclined to remind you that the final project to obtain a PhD is labelled a dissertation.
The idea that 3 Qb's are graded that similar and all worthy of a top 3 selection makes me seriously wonder about how suited our GM is. Darnold, Rosen and Allen can't be paced in the same bracket.
They (and likely Mayfield as well) are closely graded enough to make the move, at least according to Macc. Time will only tell if he is right.
that's not what it means at all. it just means he feels 3 can be FQB for us. It doens't men that he doens't have 1 or 2 rated higher
If we already had our franchise QB I’d have no issue trading up for Barkley as I do believe he will be a superstar. Unfortunately we do not and Mac made the correct move by being aggressive to trade up for a QB. So all the posts for Barkley are meaningless cause the reality of the situation is the Jets traded up to 3 for a QB as they should’ve.
Well, there's gonna be fallout from the fans of the QB's not chosen although available by Macc. That should take us into Summer...
