The fact that he thinks no one has heard of Stewart is exactly why you shouldn't give two shits what he thinks of our draft so far or our front office's decisions. Way to expose yourself booz!
I didn't see the Ardarius S highlights ,,looks like a good pick BTW I have been in that seat long before your conception sonny
Hahahah, im messing man. We did trade down like you wanted though. Just a little later then you expected. You didn't have to call me sonny geez
Stinky I watched alot of Alabama and this guy wasn't featured. Not like Amari Cooper also from Alabama. So tell us more about him then? I'll wait.
Tha That's why clueless jets fans are the only ones saying it was a bad choice. The jets got two great football players. I guess you were fine with the deep balls that destroyed us last season. Jets aren't a contender this up coming season so they need to stick pile talent everywhere. How can you be against making big improvements to a terrible secondary?
Not like Amari Cooper. OMFG. Please tell the board who is the Amari Cooper like player available at that time. Holy shit
You got me..... He definitely was NOT featured like Amari Cooper! Wayne Chrebet was also not featured like Don Maynard
For me, BPA on the first pick----particularly when you pick top 15 makes sense. After that you better consider need. I wanted guys who would start drafted. Both of these guys better start. Where is my edge rusher?
Looking back at it, I don't hate this draft as much as I thought with the exception of the Maye pick (chalk it up to the curse of the 2nd round I guess). When you consider they knew Smith was likely done for the season, the only sure thing receivers we have is Decker and Enunwa. Though I still like the potential of Anderson and Peake. They still got a tight end and some appropriate late round flyers. Maybe they could have picked OL or QB in there, but its not the biggest deal.
In a league where having a Franchise Qb is essential to winning games and the rules favoring the offense, Pass Protect has to have the highest priority and the Jets keep hoping they can do this without spending high DP's. They go with former OLine guys that are on the mend, low cost FA's, or lower tier DP's hoping for a miracle knowing its a long shot. In the meantime, the defense gets all the attention mostly because all of our HC's have been former DC's none of whom had a clue as to what a modern NFL offense requires. Result? I'll let history fill this part in for me..
I agree. 2nd rounders need to be immediate contributors. Uness Mac expected to move Pryor and the deal blew up i dont understand how the 2nd safety made sense being that our O was below average. Forte is done...He and Powell are both injury prone. Neither one are homerun hitters. I hope the rb we chose over Cook, and Samuels pans out.
Maye made sense because 1. Bowles wants his Safeties to be interchangable 2. Pryor can only play in the box, Miles as well. 3. Gilchrist is hurt 4. Maye was BPA or close at that point. 5. We got destroyed on the deep ball last year and lacked communication. Now we have on the backend Adams-Maye-Claiborne-Burris-Skrine-Williams and other developmental guys in Clark, Jones, Roberts.
He might bail out after this year especially with a 1-15 or 0-16 season. If Bowles coaches like he did last year no one would want to stay. He should have fired Rodgers after last year because the defense was awful. New York fans do not have the patience for long term builds. Calling perpetual losing a long term build is comical.
Don't mine the upgrade at secondary just don't like the high value double dip on that one part of the defense. We will still have problems with the deep ball as Maye does not track them well. We still have no QB and he went against his own advice/theory of drafting one every year until you find one.
