Because they wanted to get rid of Hill, and they were leaving his options open so he would choose one right now. It seems dumping Hill before the draft was more important than selecting the best offer. That's if the reports are true and they hadn't had both offers in at the same time. They probably accepted ours first, than the dolphins second, and left it to Hill whose approval was required.
What I was wondering. If we had offered the 10 pick would he be a Jet now? If so, I think they blew it.
It was reported and not denied that the offer Jets made was accepted by KC. So it was up to 100% Hill. Thus it was about money and/or his personal preference, not giving two shits about draft picks. In fact KC probably liked our package better. So the trade package JD presented was good enough for KC, but I'm happy as hell they went elsewhere. Great player but too rich for a young team. Lets continue to build this team properly, use the picks to form a strong D, get two stud WR onb a rookie contract, while we watch Hill stats go to shit as he transitions from Mahomes to Tua.
I've seen a few posters say we need a bigger WR for this offense and Zach's skill set. Does that mean it's a good thing we didn't get Hill? Genuinely curious here.
Can't control where he wants to go. Whatever, let's find a WR in the draft who can be with us for the next 10 years.
Would have been really nice to add Hill for the package price, but we still have all of our draft assets. Especially would have been cause he wanted to be here. Made for interesting morning! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I wonder what athlete would blow off 200K beside some kid new to money.. Money is still a big deal no matter how much of it you're making. As the old saying goes.." A fool and his money are soon parted.."
