Wasn't Herm's approach with him to make sure that Miller sat no where near him during team meetings? He'd work out well with Revis as a coach but I doubt he'd be willing to come in for anything near a reasonable salary, not to mention the fact that he spent the last three years in Herman Edwards' day-spa of a trainning camp. No way he comes in for stalag Mangini and he's going to want extra days off during the regular season which he would probably need to shake the rust off.
Barely... We better not let this crook swindle us into another contract. He's a farse. He has nothing left but the con he puts on during the negotiation process. And after he gets that money you soon find out that you've been swindled...
what you said....and....i don't want Ty Law poisoning young minds (eg. Revis and Lowery) with his shoddy attitude and work ethic.
I forgot to say this yesterday...HELL NO! ...for the aforementioned reasons (old, selfish, overpriced...not necessarily in that order).
That was a triple deke if I ever saw one. LT made that look smooth. At least Law didn't hit the turf. Come on people we all know he's lost a step. The only reason to bring him in is to play Ray Mickens old spot, again, for pennies on the dollar I might add. That's not gonna happen. Unless he takes a Randy Moss approach to wanting a title but the Jets aren't even in that position. NE is the likely landing spot. http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2008/6/30/561422/we-just-weren-t-that-into Ty Law Pretty much all you need to know about Ty Law is that no team is really interested in him. The strongest rumors in the off-season about Law's possible landing spot were in Cleveland but nothing has officially transpired as of now. Contained within that Dayton Daily News link is the exact story template that will be used for the rest of the summer: "Rumors around the league claim that Law is asking for a little too much in terms of money, and the Browns might be willing to add him to their roster if he lowers his price." Replace Browns with Patriots or any other team and you've got a Ty Law story hot and ready. This was a month ago. He is just waiting around. Same story, same news. Belly is in better position to put him to pasture like Mickens, Vinny, Flutie......more power to him.
Ty Law? Let's bring back Tony Stargell instead (if anybody remembers him, he was drafted in the same class as Reggie Rembert, I believe)....
Why haven't we done this yet? I agree that we should bring in Law to play opposite of Rhodes. Even though his 10 int season with the Jets included a few garbage time Ints, I watched him dupe the QB into them. He is incredibly smart and the younglings could learn a thing or two or three from this pro bowler. Without question we offer him 2-3 years to spread out the cap hit. This is a no brainer. In the end, as fans we don't give a rat?s azz if the Jets go broke in acquiring talent, as long as it brings in W's.
I don't want Revis anywhere near Ty Law's personality. If Revis started adopting Law's vision on how to conduct yourself in the NFL...i'd throw up my internal organs. Law isn't worth the trouble...not even at a discount, IMO.
Ty Law is too old, too slow, too expensive, and too ornery to play for the NYJs. He loves softies like Herm -- notice he followed him around -- first to the JETs, and then to the CHIEFs. Now even Herm's finished with him. Who's going to give him another payday? Let BB do the dirty deed, and we will take clear advantage early and often.
i would point out that Andrews was just released, and that Hobbs is coming in Physically Unable to Perform, so...BB is usually in a CB headcount problem every year... That's why he might want any ole CB for a couple of plays a game.
No fucking way............ eying the Jets? I hope the Jets tell Ty Law to bend over and use his good eye.
I would love for Law to line up at safety for a season. Smith and Elam are below-average players. It would require Rhodes to play a little closer to the line, because Law is not great in run support.
If Mangini was to ask Ty Law to play safety, he had better purchase Mr. Law a 4' by 6' flag to wave goodbye to all the WRs that come to pass him by on their way to that green zone all the way over there.
Did he ever even crack the lineup? I think Mike Brim played ahead of him. Brim is probably available.
